Baker and two sons, will spend part of Christmas week with Mr. and Mrs. S. 0. Ham. Misses Doris Nutt and Sara Smith return Friday evening from Ward-Belmont college for the holidays with home folks. Miss Nita Wright leaves Thurs day for Thomaston where she will spend the Christmas holidays with her grandmother, Mrs. A. F, Gilleland. Carmichael gave a rook party of two tables on Tuesday afternoon in compliment to Miss Pauline Mallet and her guest, Miss Mary Sims Ea<ces, of Rome. Miss Clara Nolen, a popular teacher in the Girls High School, in Atlanta, and Miss Emma Lou Nolen, who teaches at Wayside, will spend the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. SCHOOL NEWS The Phi Theta society elected the following officers, on last Fri day afternoon, for the month of December: Pres. Julia Petti grew; v. pres. Jewell Meridith; sec. MaryKinard; treas. Lessie O'Neal. The Demosthenian Debating Society elected the following of ficers: James Carmichael, Pres, v. pres. Fred Hopkins; sec. and treas. Hugh Bailey; cor. sec. William Crum. We are very glad to have Mr. Perritt with us again after a week’s absence on account of ill ness. During his absence Mr. Martin taught in his place. Sylvia Lyons has been absent from school the past two weeks on account of illness. The Senior Class will complete the study of Hamlet in a few days. This is Shakespear’s masterpiece of literature and each member of the class has thoroughly enjoyed the study.
