Glass was a visitor to Jackson Tuesday. Mrs. E. R. Harper, of Jackson, spent a few days last week with Mrs. J. W. Harper. Mrs. Caroline Lindsey, of High Falls, is the guest of Mrs. R W. Maddox, who is serv ing his first term as Tax Collec tor, will he a candidate to suc ceed himself in the approaching primary. In a close and hotly contested race two years ago, Mr. Maddox came out the win ner, defeating several strong candidates. He has discharged the duties of the office very effi ciently and has been compliment ed by Comptroller General Wright for the up-to-date manner in which he conducts the affairs of that imDortant position.
