A CHILD’S TONGUE
SHOWS IF UIER OR
BOWELS ARE ACTIVE
If cross, feverish, sick, bil
ious, give fruit laxative
at once
Every mother realizes after
giving her children “Caliornia
Syrup of Figs,” that this is their
ideal laxative, because they love
its pleasant taste and it thorough
ly cleanses the tender little stom
ach, liver and bowels without
griping. . . ~ „
Wnen cross, irritable, feverish
or breath is bad, stomach sour,
look at the tongue, Mother! If
coated, give a teaspoonful of this
harmless “fruit laxative,” and
in a few hours all the foul, consti
pated waste, sour bile and undi
gested food passes out of the
bowels, and you have a well, play
ful child again. When its little
system is full of cold, throat sore,
has stomach-ache, diarrhoea, in
digestion, colic—remember, a
good “inside cleansing”, should
always be the first treatment giv
en.
Millions of mothers keep “Cali
fornia Syrup of Figs” handy;
they know a teaspoonful today
saves a sick child tomorrow. Ask
your druggist for a 50-cent bottle
of “California Syrup of Figs,”
which has directions for babies,
children of all ages and grown-ups
printed on the bottle. Beware of

MRS. O’CONNER
GAINS 8 POUNDS
Suffered From Stomach
Trouble and Catarrh for
Five or Six Years
Mrs. Jno. O’Conner, who lives
at 338 East Oldham Street, Knox
ville, Tenn., called up the Kuhl
man-Chambliss Drug Cos., recent
ly and said she wanted to speak
to the “Tanlac” man. When Mr.
Willis answered the telephone,
Mrs. O’Conner made the following
remarkable statement:
“I just wanted vou to know,
and everybody else to know, what
that Tanlac medicine has done
for me. Why, I have gained eight
pounds already, and have only
been taking it for ten days. I
have just finished taking the first
bottle and have sent Mr. O’Con
ner back to the store this morning
for another bottle. This Tanlac
certainly does just what you say
it will do. I began to eat better,
sleep better and feel better from
the very first dose, and the change
in my condition has just been
wonderful. I had a good doctor
before I began using Tanlac, but
he didn’t seem to understand my
case, and his medicine did not
seem to do me any good, so I just
set it aside and quit using it.
“For the past five or six years
I have been in a run-down condi
tion-nervous, weak and at times
‘ very dizzv. 1 had nervous head
ache and indigestion perfectly
awful. My stomach was so weak
I couldn’t digest the lightest kind
of food. I was nervous and de
pressed and slept very little. I
had become so despondent over
my condition I thought nothing
could help me. It certainly was
lucky for me when I heard of
Tanlac. It is not like any other
medicine I have tried—it seems
to soothe my stomach, and is a
fine tonic, too, because my appe
tite is good now, and I digest
what I eat. If any one had told
me there was a medicine on earth
that would make me gain eight
pounds in ten days, I would have
thought them crazy.
“I don’t believe there is another
medicine on earth like Tanlac.
My cartarrh is also a great deal
better—in fact, I hardly notice it
any more.”
Tanlac, the wbnderful medicine
that accomplished such remark
able results in Mrs. O’Conner’s
case, is sold by Slaton Drug Cos.,
in Jackson, and Dr. A. F. White
