FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH.
Program for
Sunday. April 2
Meetings in progress at the
church will continue. Bro. T. 0.
Reese is preaching a fearless,
strong, convincing gospel. His
methods are sane and spiritual.
He is ,not appealing to emotional
ism and has no traps to catch,
save the gospel net.
Bro. Scholfield, is tactful, con
vincing and gracious. He sings
—he knows how to interpret a
-song, he plays a saxaphone, he
knows how to get others to sing,
even those who can not sing try.
The town is fortunate to have
these gentlemen and Christians
in its midst. Every person owes
it to himself to get the benefit of
their coming, and to hear men
Hpreach and sing with soulsonfire,
and hearts aglow in things spirit
ual. It is a great object lesson
in the value of things religious in
this materailistic day.
The Meetings
At 3 p. m. daily for one hour.
It is refreshing and inspiring to
see how the men of our town are
coming to the afternoon services.
At 17:30 p. m. the services do
not continue much beyond 9
o’clock.
9:30 Bible school—special ser
vices in the school.
Five hundred men wanted at
the First Baptist church Sunday
at 2:30 p. nr., to hear Evangelist
T. 0. Reese’s lecture on “The
Unpardonable Sin; The Sin Unto
death; The Lights Gone out on
the Road to Hell."
After hearing this address in
the First Baptist Church, DeFu
niak Springs, Fla., Hon. W. W.
Flournoy, one of the leading
criminal lawyers of the state and
mayor of the city, said: “I have
visited the principal cities of this
country and of Canada, and have
heard many great lectures to men,
but I have never heard a super
ior one in point of subject matter
or delivery."
Mr. Walker B. Scholfield will
sing. It is hoped that every man
and boy in Jackson and in the
surrounding country will attend
this great meeting for men.
