VETERANS APPRECIATE THE
KINDNESS SHOWN THEM
Editor Progress-Argus: If there
is any truth in an old saying or not
there was a “stirring of the cock

terday among the people who
were so fortunate as to be there
and “see and feel” the happy
people who were all smiling and

JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL
TRIMS FORSYTH BOYS
By the score of 11 to 10 Jack
son high school defeated the For
syth high school team in the first
game of the season on the local
grounds, Wednesday afternoon.
The count now stands one to one,
Forsyth having captured the first
contest on their own grounds.
The weather was rather cold
and windy for good baseball and
that probably accounted for the
large score. The grounds have
recently been worked over and in
a short time Jackson will have a
fast diamond.
There are some good players
on the Jackson team. Prof. W.
0. Perritt is coaching the local
talent and is teaching them a lot
of the science of the game.
A large crowd turned out to
witness the game, indicating that
# L.
the fans will support a fast team,
which Jackson is “determined to
have this season.

high school.
