SOU. RY. ENGINEER
PAID OUT $1200.00
“Dad” Watkins Treated
by Specialists in Atlanta,
Birmingham and Rich
mond Without Relief
Nearly everybody whohasever
ridden a passenger train between
Birmingham and Atlanta knows
S. T. Watkins, known by his
friends as “Dad” Watkins, the
“Preacher Engineer,” fora num
ber of years locomotive engineer
for the Southern Railway, run
ning between Birmingham and
Atlanta. Mr. Watkins is one of
the oldest engineers in the service
of the company. In a recent in
terview Mr. Watkins said:
“I have been treated by skilled
specialists in Birmingham. Atlan
ta and Richmond, and guess I
have taken about as much medi
cine as any man, but never have
I found anything that has helped
me as much asTanlac, and I have
spent twelve hundred dollars—a
small fortune-trying to regain
my health.
“I suffered for twenty-seven
long years with stomach trouble,
which the doctors told me was
caused by catarrhal asthma. In
stead of getting better, I was get
ting worse all the time. I got so
whenever I ate or drank anything
it was almost like taking that
much fire into my stomach. I
was so run down that when the
time came for me to go out on my
run, 1 just simply had to force
myself to duty, and when I got in
my cab 1 knew I was in no shape
to sit at the throttle. The pains
in my stomach and head was so
severe I could hardly stand it.
About two monthsago I had such
a severe attack I had to take to
tin* bed, and I just about decided
that ‘mv time had come,’ for no
man ever suffered any more than
I did then.
“I practically gave up all hope,
but when 1 began to hear of the
remarkable things Tanlac was
doing fonsick people in Atlanta,
many of whom 1 knew, 1 bought
a bottle. I then began to feel
better every ilav. The first bot
tle helped me so much 1 got the
second, and the results were simp
ly marvelous. I have taken in
all ten bottles, and have never in
mv life seen anything to equal it.
It went straight to my troubles,
and was in a hurry about doing
it, too, My friends began to ask
me what I was doing to myself.
“The change has been so great
that I can hardly realize that a
short time ago I was such a sick,
tired, worn-out, broken-down
piece of humanity. 1 haven't a
pain about me now, and have
more life and energy than I have
had in years. I can eat whatever
I please and it doesn’t hurt me,
and I sleep fine—something I
couldn’t do before I began taking
Tanlac. Tanlac has ended my
troubles, and you don’t know
how happy I am over it.
"I believe when a medicine puts
a fellow on his feet, like Tanlac
has done me, it is nothing but
right to come out and tell the peo
pie about it through the papers
and on the streets, and I wish it
were so every poor, sick person
in the country could kn#w the
good Tanlac has done me. Ev
erybody who knows me—and 1
know a great many people
knows that it has made anew
man out of me.”
