FLOVILLA NEWS Miss Nelle Davis left Monday for her home in Doerun after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. C. D. In gram. Miss Davis made many friends while in Flovilla who re gret she gave up her art class and will not be here longer. Misses Annie Reid and Beatrice Maddux have returned from a pleasant visit in Atlanta. Miss Alice Smith and Mr. W. H. Smith spent Monday at Cork with Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Smith. Mr. S. L. Thompson is spend ing this week at Stockbridge on business. Rev. and Mrs. J. T. Pendley and little Miss Louise Pendley have returned from Rome where they were called on account of the illness of Mr. Pendley’s fath er. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Thompson, of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thompson, of Griffin, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Thompson. Mrs. J. A. Thomp son and young son, Aldine, will remain for a ten days visit. Mr. Claude Hendrick has re turned to his home in Lindale af ter a pleasant visit with friends here. Miss Geneva Pennington re turned to her home in Macon Monday after visiting Miss Lucil la Moxley for several days. Mrs. .1. S. Lewis and Mrs. Liz zie Butner, of; Jackson, were guests of Floviila friends Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Gumming spent Sunday very pleasantly with Mr. and Mrs. W. 11. Craig at Indian Springs. Miss Lurline Lawson spent Tuesday in Atlanta. Mr. William G. Preston arrived Sunday from Camilla where he has been successfully teaching the past school term. The F. &1. S. Ry. began op eration for the summer Thursday. May 4, conveying to the Springs for a picnic a large crowd of the Junior Order of American Me chanics and their friends that came on a special train from Ma con. Saturday they will carry a crowd from the Vineville Metho dist Sunday schoolsthat will come on a special train and picnic at the Springs. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Thompson entertained Sunday Messrs. Ar thur Rams and W. A Thompson, of Atlanta, W. A., Sr. and W. A. Strickland, Jr., of Concord, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Crouch, of Griffin. Mr. J. H. Mills, of Jenkvns burg, spent Tuesday in Floviila. SCHOOL NEWS The champion Debate between the Seniors and Juniors will take place Friday evening, May 5, at the school auditorium. Every body is invited. No admission fee will be charged. The two classes will give a street parade Friday afternoon at four o’clock. Mr. Caldwell, a represenative from Tech, visited us last week and complimented the work of the High School very highly.
