MR. SHERWOOD THAXTON
IN CHARGE OF HOTEL FOY
It is a matter of wide interest
to the friends of Mr. Sherwood
Thaxton to know he will have
charge of the Foy Hotel as lessee
this season. Mr. Thaxton is one
of the best known and most pop
ular hotel men in the state and
his success is most gratifying to
his Jackson friends. He has been
connected with leading.hotels in
Birmingham. Tampa, Galveston
and more recently with the Kim
ball House, Atlanta. He was for
merly manager of the Wigwam
for several seasons.
The Foy is a splendid piece of
hotel property, well located, well
furnished, equipped with all the
modern conveniences and Mr.
Thaxton proposes to make the
service the very best and he will
doubtless have a liberal and select

Death of Mrs. Elliott
The Butts county friends of
Mr. Charlie Elliott sympathize
with him in the death of his wife
and baby, which occurred May 19
at the home of his mother-in-law
in Coffee county. Mr. Elliott is
a son of Mr. James Elliott, of
Iron Springs district, and two
years ago moved to Coffee county
where he married a Miss Graham.
