The condition of Mr. John
O’Rear, who has been quite sick,
is reported as somewhat improv
ed.
Mrs. L. H. Davis has returned
to her home in Atlanta, after a
visit to her daughter, Mrs. Gus
White.
Mrs. A. H. Smith is spending
the week in Atlanta and has as
her guest, Mrs. Jule Stephens, of
Albany.
Mrs. W. J. Wood’s guests are
her niece, Miss Elizabeth Fisher,
and Mrs. M. A. Coleman, both of
Cochran.
Miss Lucy Pace left Wednesday
for Nashville to attend the Pea
body Normal College for the sum
mer term.
Mrs. Roy Gunter and children,
Lucy and Roy, returned Sunday
evening from a visit to relatives
in Atlanta.
Mrs. M. J. Carson's friends
will be interested to know she
now has rooms at the home of
Mrs. S. C. Paul.
Miss Annie Lou McCord is vis
iting friends in Atlanta and will
later visit her cousin, Mrs. Mc-
Carty in Douglasville.
Mr. L. H. Jordan has resigned
his position with the Jackson
Banking Company and left Tues
day for his home in Molena.
Dr. and Mrs. 0. Lee Chesnutt
returned Sunday from Macon
where they attended the meet
ing of the dental association.
Mrs. W. E. Merck has return
ed from Gainesville, where she
was called several days ago on
account of the illness of her
father.
Judge H. M. Fletcher left the
first of the week for Los Angeles
to attend the meeting of the
Grand Commandery, Knights
Templar.
Mr. H. J. Miller was the dele
gate from the Baraca class of the
Baptist church to the state Sun*
dav school convention in Atlanta
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom McKibben
and voung daughter motored
from Eatonton Sunday and were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pitts
McKibben.
Rev. and Mrs. Z. M. Leverette
and daughter, Jane, have re
turned from Louisville. Kv., and
are guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.
H. Maddox.
Mr. J. W. Brown attended the
Sunday School convention in At
lanta this week and is spending
several days with relatives in
Houston county.
Mrs. J. M. Currie and Eliza
beth. Mrs. H. R. Slaton, Henry
and Sara Slaton leave the latter
part of the week for a visit to
Mrs. J. T. Harris, in Jacksonville.

Methodist church at the Sunday
school convention in Atlanta this
week.
Mr. Charles Bailey, who has
been the guest of his mother,
Mrs. Rosa F. Bailey, for several
days, has returned to Norfolk,
Va., where he is attached to a
receiving ship in the United
States navy. Mr. Bailey’s friends
are proud of the fine record he is
making in the navy.
Mr. J. Matt McMichael, presi
dent of the Butts County Sunday
school convention, attended the
state convention in Atlanta
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurs
day.
Misses Thelma Wood and Lur
line Lawson will be members of
the Wesleyan party who will visit
Niagara Falls, Thousand Islands
and other points of interest, this
summer.
