L. 6 N. CONDUCTOR
GAINS 18 POUNDS
Capt. Parker Now Eats
Cabbage and Pork Like
a Section Hand
“I have got to hand it to that
Tanlac, for there is no doubt
about it being the finest thing ev
er sold in a drug store for the
people that have any sort of stom
ach trouble or indigestion," said
Capt. Eugene Parker, a popular
Louisville and Nashville conduc
tor, running between Birming
ham and Montgomery, and who
lives at 417 Sixth avenue. Ingle
nook, a few days ago.
"Why, the way it has straight
ened me out in just a short time, ’’
he continued, "is a mystery and
it has done for me what mothing
else I ever tried would do. I had
mighty near got to where I didn’t
need to go to the table any more,
so far as eating was concerned,
for I couldn’t eat anything after
I got there. If I did, I had to
pay dear for it in a little while,
for my stomach had about played
out altogether.
"There was a continual sore
ness in my stomach and I thought
sometimes it must be an abscess.
My liver never was right and
there was not a day but what I
had to get something from the
drug store for headache and to
settle my stomach. I never had
much life in me and had fallen
off a great deal. I was in a bad
ly run down shape generally and
hardly fit to do my work.
"About three weeks ago a
friend of mine asked me why I
didn’t try this Tanlac, as he had
used it and found it to be the
very thing he needed, so I took
him up on his suggestion and
stopped at the Anderson Drug
company in Inglenookand bought
two bottles of it, but I must say
1 never looked for it to do me any
good, as so many things had been
recommended to me and I tried
them all without any benefit.
"Well, I am afraid some people
won’t believe it, but it is a fact
and I can prove it. After I had
used those two bottles I weighed
and found I had actually gained
18 pounds. It just straightened
mv stomach out in no time and
since 1 took the first dose I have
not had to take anything for a
headache.
“I have the finest kind of an
appetite now and can eat any
thing. The other day out on the
road our supplies had run low and
I had some salt pork and cabbage
cooked up on the caboose and I
ate it like a section hand and en
joyed every mouthful of it. That’s
‘going some’ for a man who had
stomach trouble, but it did not
hurt me one bit.
“I notice I sleep a great deal
better now and am just about 100
per cent in better shape every
wav. 1 really believe Tanlac is
the best remedy in the world and
there are a lot of other people out
of my way who think the same
thing.”

“When I was a growing lad. and came
upon many word* in my reading that
I did not understand, my mother, in
stead of giving me the definition when
1 applied to her. uniformly sent me to
the dictionary to learn it. and in this
way 1 gradually learned many things
besides the meaning of the individual
word in question among other things,
how to use a dictionary, and the great
pleasure and advantage there might
be in the use of the dictionary.
Afterwards, when I went to the village

sons were learned and before they
were recited, was in turning over the
pages of the ‘Unabridged’ of those
days. Now the most modern Una

gives me a pleasure of the same sort.
So far as my know! :dge extends, it is
