EXCURSION TO MACON
TUESDAY FOR MILITARY
The Southern Railway announc
es an excursion to Macon Tues
day. July 11 to give the people in
Jackson, Forsyth, Barnesville,
Griffin and surrounding territory
an opportunity to bid the military
boys farewell before they leave
for the border. The round trip
rate from Jackson is 75 cents,
and 40 cents for children.
There is no doubt about the
Second regiment being sent to
the border, but the exact date of
leaving is not known. A large
crowd will doubtless take ad
vantage of these low rates.
Put the loafers to work. There
is plenty of work at good wages
and there is no excuse for white
or colored to hang round town in
idleness. ‘ ‘Get busy or get out, ’ ’
would be a good slogan for the
officials to adopt.

A Heavy Burden
A Bad Back Makes Life
Miserable For Many
Jackson People
A bad back is a heavy burden.
A burden at night when bedtime
comes.
Just as bothersome in the morning.
Ever try Doan’s Kidney Pills for it?
Know they are for kidney backache
—and for other kidney ills?
If you don’t, some Jackson people do.
Read a case of it:
\Y. T. Burke, Oak St., Jackson,
says: “Heavy lifting and straining
caused my kidneys to get out of order.
The kidney secretions sometimes pass
ed too frequently and were scanty.
They also contained sediment. My
back finally commenced to ache and
grew worse until I couldn't keep going.
I had rheumatic pains all through my
body and I was so sore and lame that
I could hardly get out of bed. I doc
tored and tried all sorts of medicine,
but \fith no results. I finally used
Doan’s Kidney Pills and they soon put
my kidneys in good condition. The
pains left my back and the kidney se
cretions passed regularly.”
Price 50c, at all dealers. Don’t sim

This country was certainly in a
woeful state of preparedness.
After the men got to camp they
had no guns and equipment. It
is nothing short of criminal

neglected.

for the mother,. has no drug effect whatso
