Livestock Campaign
Quite Successful
Milton P. Jarnagin, Professor Of Ani
mal Husbandry, Georgia State
College Of Agriculture.
The campaign for more and bet
ter livestock which has been conduct
ed in Georgia by the College of Agri
culture in co-operation with the rail
roads, proved as great a success as
could be hoped for. Practically the
whole state was included in the itin
erary, every line of railroad being
used. About 175 stops were made by
the exhibit cars, the arrangement be
ing to make two stops a day. About
175,000 people visited the exhibits and
heard the speeches made by the ex

All those who saw the exhibits know

questionably many nave been lea to
desire pure-bred animals and many
have already determined to have such
types of animals as their foundation
for breeding. The ultimate outcome
of the campaign, therefore, will be a
large contribution to the improve
ment of livestock, the influence of
which will continue indefinitely as the
effect of better breeds develops from
year to year.
This campaign would have been im
possible without the assistance of the
railroads. They joined most heartily
in the undertaking.
The exhibits of home-grown feed*
added conclusive arguments in favor
of the livestock industry in Georgia.
In fact, the conclusion which the cam
paign enforced with no room left for
doubt, is that Georgia affords splen
did opportunities for livestock grow
ing.

SARDIS CHURCH HAS
CLOSED GOOD MEETING
The protracted services at Sar
dis church which closed Thurs
day proved a great success. The
services were conducted by Rev.
I. G. Walker, of Locust Grove,
and he is certainly a consecrated
man of God. He gave us some
of the strongest gospel sermons
we have ever listened to and
much good has heed accomplish
ed. The church and community
has been greatly blessed and we
had added to our number five by
baptism and two by letter.
We trust this is only the be
ginning of greater things. We
have a good Sunday school at
Sardis and we are expecting a
large attendance as soon as pro
tracted meetings and camp meet
ings are over. We hope that fath
ers and mothers of Sardis church
will fall in line and let us make
our Sunday school a success.
Our young people and all the
children will meet at the church
next Saturday evening at three
o’clock to organize a society of
Willing Workers. All the young
people and children are requested
to be present and enroll as Will
ing Workers for Christ and His
kingdom.
