Dinner Party
The informal dinner party with
which Mrs. O’Kellev entertained
her guests, Mrs. W. S. Wight
and Mrs. Arthur Kelley, of Cai
ro, who are spending some time
at Indian Springs, was a delight
ful affair at Sylvan Grove, Wed
nesday.
Luncheon to Visitors
Mrs. J. B. Mavs complimented
her guests, Misses Willie Lee
Herrin and Dollie Strickland, of
Carrollton, with a lovely luncheon
Wednesday, her guests for the
occasion including Misses Herrin
and Strickland, Miss Thelma
Wood, Mr. Leon Wood, Mr. Parks
Henderson, of Griffin, and Dr. L.
L. Christian, of Atlanta.

An interesting announcement
in the social columns of Sunday’s
papers was that of Miss Nelia
Darr.our, of Macon, and Mr. John
Watt, of Thomasviile, Miss Dam
our having by her charming gra
cious manner made many friends
during her visits to Mrs. George
Damour and Miss Helen Car
michael.
Harris-Fletcher.
Mrs. William A. Harris an
nounces the engagement of her
daughter. Nina Lancaster, and
Judge Henry Merritt Fletcher,
the marriage to take place in the
early fall. Miss Harris is a pop
ular and talented young woman,
possessing a most pleasing and
attractive personality, with hosts
of friends who are interested in
her marriage to Judge Fletcher,
who in addition to being a mem
ber of the Georgia bar, is one of
the most successful business men
of the community.
Mrs. O’Kelley Entertains
A lovely affair of the week was
on Wednesday afternoon when
Mrs. o’Kelley entertained four
tables of rook at her home, Syl
van Grove, in honor of her guests,
Mrs. W. S. Wight and Mrs. Ar
thur Kelley, of Cairo, and Mrs.
A. W. Lane, of Macon, who is
spending the summer here.
Attractive decorations of ze
nias, roses and growing plants
were seen throughout the home,
quantities being used with charm
ing effect in the living room and
drawing room where tables were
arranged for the interesting
games, after which a delightful
salad and ice course was served.
Mrs. O’Kelley was assisted in en
tertaining by Mrs. Maurice
Wright, Misses Annadawn Wat
son. Mary Lane and Mary Fran
ces o’Kelley.

Mothers Club
Delightful among the midsum
mer meetings of the Young Moth
ers Club was that of Thursday
afternoon of last week when Mrs.
R. L. Carter was the gracious
hostess. The spacious porches
with their decorations of white
clematis and pink roses made a
pretty setting for the guests,
among whom were a number of
visitors. Mrs. L. L. O’Kelley
read a helpful paper on Child
Study. A salad course was serv
ed, the color scheme of pink and
white being further carried out.
On Thursday afternoon of this
week Mrs. Jack Dempsey enter
tained the members at her hos
pitable home on College street.
This was a special meeting and a
special program was arranged,
several of the members taking
part. Delicious ices were served
at the conclusion of the program.
House Party For Little Folks
Miss Margaret Lane was the
charming little hostess to nine of
her young friends at a most en
joyable house party, the guests
arriving Monday morning and
remaining through Friday after
noon. They were entertained
with an exciting rook game Mon
day morning and in the afternoon
the happy party enjoyed a picnic.
Tuesday morning they rode out
to spend the time wading in the
creek in Watson’s pasture, and
the delightful lawn party with
which Miss Hattie Buttrill com
plimented proved the grand finale
of the happiest hours of their
lives. Little Miss Lane’s guests
were Virginia Carmichael, Edna
Copeland. Marion Carmichael,
Martha Watts, Mildred Cook,
Vera Smith, Lollie Carmichael
and Mary Frances O’Kelley.

day in Atlanta.
Mr. W. F. Malaier is at home
for several days.
Mr. S. K. Smith was up from
Flovilla Tuesday.
Harvey Knott was a visitor in
the city this week.
Mr. W. F. Huddleston was a
visitor to the city Tuesday.
Miss Mamie Kate Watson has
returned from a visit to Dublin.
Mr. R. E. Stanfield was up
from Macon for the week-end.
