business man can employ the best help and insure SERVICE. De
pression may come in his line, but his big' CASH ON HAND means
SECURITY. The fine line of credits may be drawn tight, but none will
question his STABILITY. Give your business SERVICE, SECURITY

REAL BOLL WEEVIL IS
; NOW IN BUTTS GOUNTY
The real Mexican, simon-pure
boll weevil is now in Butts coun
ty. Don’t get excited—they are
carefully concealed in a bottle.
During: a recent visit to Thom
asville Mr. L. L. O’Kelley cap
tured several of the bugs and
brought them to Jackson with
him. They were placed on exhi
bition at the Woods-Carmichael
drug store.
< The real boll weevil is not a
large bug, being about the size
of a fly or pea weevil.
The boil weevil is now getting
in its deadly work in thirty-six
South Georgia counties.

A CURE FOR MALARIA
“I am told that there is a
means of getting the malaria
germ out of one’s system. Is
there? And if so, please tell me
what it is.”
The following cure for malaria
is suggested in the North Caroli
na State Board of Health bulle
tin. It may be altered by the
physician to suit the individual
case:
“Take 5 grains calomel; 4 hours
later take a tablespoonful of Ep
som salts. At the time of taking
the calomel begin taking 5 grains
quinine, every 4 hours, 30 grains
a day, for 72 hours. Then re
duce to 5 grains of quinine every
6 or 8 hours, 15 to 20 grains a day,
for 72 hours longer. Then reduce
to 5 grains of quinine morning
and evening for a week, after
which the person should continue
taking 5 grains a day until frost.
Strychnine and iron tonics may
be prescribed bv the physican,
if necessary, but do not spend
your money and strength on pat
ent medicine and do not prescribe
for yourself, for you do not know
that your heart can stand stry
chnine.” —The Progressive Far
mer.
