Now for the fair.
Have you decorated for the
fair?
Do you belong tc the Push and
Pull Club?
Come to the fair and bring
something to show.
The county unit is a good thing
—Jk,vr the politicians.
Have you contributed your dol
lar to the Democratic campaign
fund?
If you haven’t done anything
for the fair do you feel exactly
right about it?
Atlanta is not a bit behind the
times. She has been having a
street car -strike.
If there is anything left to run
for, guess Judge Dick Russell
will tackle it in due time.
"One people do the voting but
it takes the politicians in a con

Here’s hoping Prof. Snider
will give us a choice assortment
of weather for fair week.

Griffin recently voted $60,000

Jackson must follow suit in the
near future.
Dr. Hardman spent about $19,-

Why not have Butts county
m*e on exhibit at the Southeas
tern fair and the State fair? It
is Rood advertising for the coun
ty and is a most progressive step
iaaw agricultural way. What say
the citizens of the community?
There’s no use in worrying
over might-have-beens, but if
there had been a large crop of
cottton at present prices, wouldn’t
the South have fairly rolled in
prosperity?
The boll weevil is getting dan
gerously close to Butts ccuntv.
The pest is reported to have been
found in both Monroe and Put
nam counties. Will you be ready
when the weevil gets here?
Butts county’s cotton crop, to
gether with the seed, is worth
about $1,000,000. This gives ev
ery man. woman and child in the
county $73, or $365 to each fam
ily. So much for King Cotton.
Editor Duke, of Griffin, and
Editor Bloodworth, of Forsyth,
are cordially invited to come over
to the Butts County Fair and let
some of Jackson’s prettiest girls
cover them in confetti. Come
on, ye pachelor tribe, we have
both the pretty girls and the con
fetti.

There is general regret that
O. H. B. Bloodworth, who led in
popular and county unit votes,
did not get one of the places on
the court of appeals. He was the
people’s choice, even though the
convention did use the steamroll
er. It is such tactics as this that
disgusts the people with conven
tion nominations. After all the
second primary is the best plan.
MAKE THE MOST OF PROSPERITY
Every inan should keep fit these
days and make the most of his oppor
tunities. No man can work his best

neys and bladder, aching back, swol

rains. Foley Kidney Pills pay for
themselves a hundred times over in
health improvement. The Owl Phar

last you eight months. It
will pay you.

Much advertising these days is
like the great gas clouds which
the armies of Europe are hurling
at each other.
It envelopes you in a thick fog of
superlatives and exaggerations in
which you can only rub your
eyes and gasp for breath.
Here, by way of contrast, is our
advertising code: to be straight
forward —to be truthful —to be
brief.
When you have such merchandise
as Kirschbaum Clothes at sls,
S2O and $25, you can safely leave
a lot to be said by the goods
themselves.
