Private Aubrey McGibony of the U. S. navy, who has been visiting relatives here for some time left Monday for Norfolk, Va., where he is stationed, Mr. Daughtry Buckalew at tended the singing at Sandy Creek Sunday. Miss Thelma and Mr. Laurence Fincher, of Barnesville, and Mr. Ira Fincher, of Jenkinsburg, spant the week-end at home. Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Maddox and children spent Sunday in Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Will Stroud, of Union City spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cawthon. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kimbell and Mr. Asbury Godeey. of Ce dar Ruck, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Godsey. Mrs. G. E. Buckalew and daughters, Misses Ada and Myr tice, spent Monday in Jackson shopping. Messrs. Harvel Gunn, W. H. Cawthon and Graydon Kitchens spent Monday and Tuesday in Atlanta attending the South eastern Fair. Most everybody around here attended the Butts County Fair in Jackson last week and report a good time, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Duke have moved to Atlanta. Their manv friends regret to see them leave. Mr. Watson Shaw and Miss Corine Horton called on Miss Ada Buckalew Sunday afternoon. Everybody is invited to come to Sardis Sundav school. The Sunday school is for everybody and we want to make it bigger and better than ever before. Potts and children, of Locust Grove, were visitors at Jenkinsburg Sunday afternoon. Col. and Mrs. J. T. Moore and and Miss Edna Leverette, of Jackson, were guests Sunday of DR. E. K. RAINEY AND FAMILY NOW IN JACKSON Dr. E. K. Rainey and family took their departure yesterday morning for Jackson, Butts conn ty. in North Georgia, their future home. There is no family in our midst whose removal would cause more universal and genuine re gret and none have gone who carried with them more sincere wishes for happinees and success than Dr. and Mrs. Rainey. A number of their warm friends were at the depot to bid them goodbye. They leave Arlington after a residence of twenty-one years, during which time Dr. Rainey has builded by skillful ef ficiency in his profession a den tal practice through this section that could not be wrested from him by any kind.of competition. And. too, during his several years’ service as either mayor, councilman or school trustee, Dr. Rainey gave most efficient ser vice that won him the confidence and popular approval that is not enjoyed by many citizens in a public capacity of a community. Mills returned Sun day from a business trip in South Georgia in behalf of the Farmers' Union. Miss Florence Stallworth left Saturday to visit relatives in Mc- Donough and Atlanta. Dr. J. W. Harper made a bus iness trip to Atlanta Monday. Mr. OHie Woodward, of Macon, visited home folks here Sunday.
