If you care for heavy hair, that glistens with beauty and is radiant with life; has an incom parable softness and is fluffy and lustrous, try Danderine. Just one application doubles the beauty of your hair, besides immediately dissolves every par ticle of Dandruff; you cannot have nice, heavy, healthy hair if you have dandruff. If your hair has been neglec ted and is thin, faded, dry, scrag gy or too oily, get a 25-cent bot tle of Knowlton’s Danderine at any drug store or toilet counter; apply a little as directed and ten minutes after you will say this was the best investment you ev er made. The blood circulating in the capillaries of the intestines will pick up more poison ous waste than can be thrown out by the kidneys and other blood-purifying organs, and the whole system is quickly impregnated with disease-causing im purities. Foley Cathartic Tablets thoroughly evacuate the intestines. They not only aid the action of the bowels in remov ing the congested mass without griping or nausea, but they help clear the walls of the intestines and keep them free from caked matter. With bowels open and regular, there is never likely to be biliousness, gas, bloating, sick headache, sour stomach or the other ills that constantly attend indigestion and constipation. Upon his return to London from Italy, Guglielmo Marconi, in an inter view with British journalists, gave the following information : “New develop ments will not only make wireless communication in this war more effi cient than ever before, but will make it more difficult for the enemy to inter cept messages. These improvements will apply to instruments in aeroplanes and airships. Hitherto aeroplanes have been at a disadvantage with airships in wireless work, for although they were able to transmit messages, they have not been able to receive them. Tills was because the receiving signal was too faint to be distinguished, be ing drowned by the noise of the aero plane engine. Now we have been able to strengthen the receiving signal sulii ciently to enable messages to be taken.” Dyer's Famous Daughter. To many Catherine Benincasa, the dyer’s daughter, born in 1348, is the most attractive saint in the calendar, where she appears as St. Catherine of Sienna. She was gay and loving as well as austere; she was pitiless to herself, but reproached herself for demanding too much, spiritually, from others. She was also a visionary with com mon sense, a rare combination. It was characteristic of her that when at eight years old she ran away one afternoon to be a hermit she took some bread and a jug of water with her, lest the angels should forget to bring her food, and at nightfall she ran home again for fear of making her mother unhappy. Her Expansive Hat. A woman entered a car rather out of breath and presented a singular ap pearance, for instead of a hat she was balancing a huge basket on her head with as much grace and ease as if It had been her Sunday bonnet. She could just manage to get through the doorway, but she sat down with the basket gracefully poised on her head. “All fares, please,” said the conduc tor. “And I shall want five cents for that there basket, mum.” “Get away with yer,” she said. “D’ye charge anything for ladies’ hats?” “No, mum.” “Thin get on with yer work. This ’er basket is a-going to be my hat.” — Pittsburgh Chronicle-Telegraph. Serum for Asphyxiation. Several physicians of the Johns Hop kins hospital of Baltimore, Md„ are experimenting with a serum which they are said to have used with success in the laboratories in restoring cases of asphyxiation and drowning in animals severul hours after life has been pruc tically extinct. There appears to be one drawback in the results thus far, however, in that in the majority of instances there have been serious af ter effects such as high blood pressure or hardening of the arteries. Soldiers Trim Hats. Hat trimming is not generally re quired of young soldiers who go to war, yet many wounded soldiers at the Canadian sports day at Grasineud Meadow, near Orpington, Kent, proved themselves so talented in the handi craft that after the victory is won, in stead of going back to the lund, some of them may set up millinery estab lishments in Canadian towns, equal to any branch of the famous Maison Lewis of New York, London and Pur is.—Toronto Globe.
