The members of the seventh

enjoyed a delightful Halloween
party on Friday evening at the
home of Miss Elsie Curry. Jack
o’-lantern faces grinned a wel
come, and the witches riding
broom-sticks escorted the ghosts
around. Solemn black cats looked
strangely at each other and bats
flew around promiscuously. On
the lawn was the fortune-teller,
an old witch well known for
foretelling the destinies of young
people. Apples, popcorn, red
candy, persimmons, corn and
pumpkins constituted the unique
decorations, while fruits and
candies w T ere the refreshments.
Assisting Mrs. Curry were Miss
Wiggins, Miss Thompson, little
Miss Frances McKibben and Miss
Davie Fletcher.

Party for Young People
Miss Margaret McKibben was
hostess at an enjoyable Hallo
ween party on Friday evening at
the home of her parents on West
Third street. Festoons of pop
corn, jack-o’-lanterns and fruits,
all suggestive of the festive Hal
loween season, were in evidence
on the lower floor where the
spooks reigned supreme in their
merrimeut. Hot chocolate and
wafers were served by Miss
Gladys Kimbell and Mrs. S. P.
Nichols. About thirty guests
were present.
Birthday Party ,
Little Miss Ruth O’Kelley was
the charming hostess to twenty
five of her little friends at her
home, Sylvan Grove, Monday af
ternoon, the occasion celebrating
the fourth anniversary of her
birthday.
Chrysanthemums were used in
the attractive decorations of the
house, the table for which the
pretty birthday cake, with its
four candles, made the lovely
centerpiece, being ladened with
the beautiful flowers. The pop
ular little hostess was showered
with pretty gifts, and childish
games enjoyed by the young
guests during the afternoon, ice
cream, cake and bonbons adding
to their pleasures.

Concert Was Success
The concert given on Friday
evening was a genuine treat to
the music lovers of Jackson.
Miss Genevieve Voorhees as a
pianist is not only wonderfully
proficient in a technical way but
combines with this the fire and
warmth of a veritable Paganini.
The two piano solos rendered
by Mrs. Percy Cox were highly
artistic. Her modern technical
equipment enables her to give
her numbers not only with a
broad but also a beautiful liquid
tone.
Mrs. W. L. Etheridge comple
ted the programme with two
thoroughly enjoyable vocal num
bers.
UGH! CALOMEL MAKES
YOU DEATHLY SiCK
Stop Using Dangerous
Drug Before It Salivates
You! It’s Horrible!
You’re bilious, sluggish, consti
pated and believe you need vile,
dangerous calomel to start your
liver and clean your bowels.
Here’s my guarantee! Ask your
druggist for aSO cent bottle of
Dodson’s Liver Tone and take a
spoonful tonight. If it doesn’t
start your liver and straighten
you right up better than calomel
and without griping or making
you sick I want you to go hack to
the store and get your money.
Take calomel today and tomor
row you will feel weak and sick
and nauseated. Don’t lose a day’s
work. Take a spoonful of harm
less, vegetable Dodson’s Liver
Tone tonight and wake up feeling
great. It’s perfectly harmless,
so give it to your children any
time. It can’t salivate, so let
them eat anything afterwards, ad
