Catarrh of Throat
Miss Amalie Ruzlcka, 1449 South
16th St., Omaha, Nebraska, writes:
“I have suffered with catarrh of the
throat I Caught cold and it settled
in my throat, and I coughed badly
and was very weak. I could not sleep
and had no appetite. I had two doc
tors, and had taken so many different
medicines and found no help. I thought
I will have to glvo up; but at last
my mother read about Peruna, so ]
thought of trying that great medicine
Peruna. I got a bottle of It and in
about four days I almost stopped
coughing, and after a while I surely
found relief, and from that time we
are not without Peruna In our home,’’

ON SHORT POWER
Lights And Light Power
For The Present
LOW WATER THE CAUSE
OCMULGEE PLANT UNABLE TO
FURNISH MAXIMUM POWER
ON ACCOUNT OF LoW WATER
—COAL SCARCITY A FACTOR
✓ .
On account of the unusual condi
tions caused by the low water at the
plant of the Central Georgia Power
Company on.the Ocmulgee river and
the inability to secure coal for the
Macon steam plant, Jackson ha-> been
put on short power. This is only
temporary and as soon as it rains
and fills up the reservoir or the coal
situation improves the usual current
will be restored.
At present Jackson is allowed
lights and light power twenty-four
hours per day. Alt heavy users of
current have been cut out for the
present. This affects a mfhnber of
manufacturing l enterprises, causing
considerable inconvenience, that un
der the circumstances, cannot be
avoided.
Citizens of Jackson are urged to
be as economical as possible with
lights and power. In case the present
arrangement does not solve the situ
ation, the promise is held out that
Jackson will be placed on a service
of probably six or eight hours. That
would mean there would be lights as
usual at night and power only for
pumping purposes.
Superintendent W. E. Merck esti
mates that the present arrangement
saves about forty per cent of the
normal quantity of power.
Lights are not turned on at all on
moonlight nights and every precau
tion is being taken to conserve the
supply of current.

A CHILD HATES OIL,
CALOMEL, PILLS FOR
LIVER AND BOWELS
Give “California Syrup of
Figs” if Cross, Sick, Fever
ish, Constipated
Look back at your childhood days.
Remember the “dose" mother insist
ed on—castor oil, calomel, cathart
ics. How you hated them, -how you
fought against taking them.
With our children it’s different.
Mothers who cling to the old form of
physic simply don’t realize what they
do. The children’s revolt is well-foun
ded. Their tender little “insides” are
injured by them.
If your child’s stomach, liver and
bowels need cleansing, give only de
licious “California Syrup of Figs.”
ILs action is positive, but gentle. Mil
lions of mothers keep this harmless
“fruit laxative” handy; they know
children love to take it; that it never
fails to clean the liver and bowels and
sweeten the stomach, and that a tea
spoonful given today saves a sick
child tomorrow.
Ask your druggist for a
bottle of “California Syrup of Figs,”
which has full directions for babies,
children of all ages and for grown
ups plainly on each bottle. Beware
of counterfeits sold here. See that it
js made by “California Fig Syrup
Company.” Refuse any other kind
with contempt, advt.
