Washington, February 26.—Re
ceipts from the sale of War Savings
Stamps in this country already are
exceeding those from the same
source irt Great Britain, figures
made public today by the national
war savings committee show. For
the past four weeks total receipts
at the treosury from this source
were $40,000,000, as against $37,-
000,000 in Great Britain.
As the total American war savings
now are in excess of $70,000,000
and are averaging nearly $2,000,000
a day, it is expected that he first
$100,000,000 will be recordede in
the third week of March, or in a lit
tle more than three months after the
first offering of the stamps by the
treasury.

Mr. J. H. Blackwell, Dr. S. K.
England and Mrs. Mary Butner made I
fine addresses at the Indian Springs
school house Tuesday morning. The
talks were on conservation, Pig Clubs,

enjoyed.

CEDAR ROCK CLUB NOTES
The Cedar Rock Club met Monday
afternoon when the following offi
cers were elected: President, Leon
ard McMichael; vice president, Bry
ant Williamson; secretary, Lucy
Bond; corresponding secretary, Dai
sy Lee Nutt. We are going to have
weekly programs on which the differ
ent members will serve and also oth
ers that can be had. We are correla
ting this work with school work and
and our programs will be rendered
on Friday afternoons in connection
with literary work.
All members are enthusiastic and
feel this work is very important.
We have sixteen members enrolled
in all the clubs.
The County Demonstrators, Rev.
S. R. England and Mr. R. P. Sasnett
gave interesting lectures in a commu
nity meeting held at the school house
in behalf of club work and general
agricultural and educational devel
opment. The meeting was enjoyed by
over sixty present.
