“CASCARETS; FOR A
COLO, BUD BREATH
OR SICK HEADACHE
Best For Liver and Bowels,
for Biliousness, Sour Stom
ach and Constipation
Get a 10-cent box now.
Furred Tongue, Bad Colds, Indi
gestion, Sallow Skin and Miserable
Headaches come from a torpid liver
and clogged bowels, which cause
your stomach to become filled with
undigested food, which sours and
ferments like garbage in a swill bar
red. That’s the first step to untold
misery—indigestion, foul gases, bad
breath, yellow skin, mental fears,
everything that is horrible and nau
seating. A Cascaret tonight will give
your constipated bowels a thorough
cleansing and straighten you out by
morning. They work while you
sleep—a 10-cent box from your
druggist will keep you feeling good
for months. Millions of men and wo
men take a Cascaret now and then
to keep their stomach, liver and bow
els regulated, and never know a mis
erable moment. Don’t forget the
children —their little insides need a
good gentle cleansing, too. advt.
SERGEANT W. F. LAVENDER
DISCHARGED FROM ARMY
Has Been in Service Since The Mexi
can Trouble
Sergeant W. F. Lavender has re
ceived an honorahio discharge from
the army, and has returned to Jack-
Hon. Defective eyesight was the
ground on which Sergeant Lavender
was discharged.
He served nearly two years in the
army, having gone with the Jackson
Rifles to he Mexican border and re
cently has been located at Camp
Wheeler. His record is a good one,
being marked “excellent” by the com
manding officers. During the entire
time he was in the army he never
missed a roll call and never had any
charges preferred against him.
Sergeant Lavender was elected
deputy sheriff in 1916. His plans for
the future are uncertain, though he
will probably remain in Butts county.

but can they be proven? We publish
the formula of Vinol to prove the
statements we make about it.

above, combine the very elements
needed to make strength.
All weak, run-down, overworked
nervous men and women may prove
this at our expense.
There is nothing like Vinol to re
store strength and vitality to feeble
old people, delicate children and all
persons who need more strength.
Try it. If you are not entirely sat

THE JACKSON PROGRESS-ARGUS
YOU HAVE A SOLDIER
AT THE FRONT
When one or probably more of our
good women approach you and insist
on your purchasing War Savings
Stamps before you turn a deaf ear
and reply, “You women are always
begging for something,” just think of
the following lines, how few of our
American people are there to whom
they do not appeal? Can you, oh heart
of stone! fail to respond? If so, may
God pity you:
You have a soldier at the front
He has offered up his life—
He may not be your brother,
You may not be his wife.
But still, for you in battle
He fights and will protect.
Can you forget your soldier?
Can you his needs neglect?
You have a soldier at the front,
Perhaps in some damp trench,
Or suffering on the battlefield
Amid its blood and stench.
For you this hero suffers,
For you he rolls in pain—
Can you forget your soldier?
Can he wait your aid in vain?
You have a soldier at the front,
He answered duty’s call
To help save the little ones,
He battles for us all.

\M Put Slacker Acres to Work Ifc
Tml Our Country is calling for bigger yields of all crops. The world j
needs every pound of farm products the South can furnish, and is j
ready to pay handsome prices for them. Never before has the
Southern farmer had such a golden opportunity to serve his country i
and at the same time build his own fortune.
Intelligent f utilization of every acre in cultivation is more nec
essary now than ever before, because each acre should be made to
jflrsrxsipy yield its utmost. . This cannot be done unless the proper class and
Quantities of fer ilizers are used. Low producing acres and inferior
fertilizers constitute an inexcusable and unpatriotic waste.
