Enlist Herefords
To Win The War
Food will win the war. The mast essential
articles of food that are needed are beef and
wheat.
European beef and breeding stocks are
terribly depleted. Our soldiers abroad, and
those of our allies are looking to us for-their
supply. Every available pound of surplus
beet has already been shipped, and if we
would furnish them with beef, so necessary
to keep them in fighting trim, we must
double our usual output.
1> your part towards increasing your na
tion a beef supply and fatten your bank-roll
at the same time, by raising Hereford Cattle
—the best beef breed. Herefords produce
more beef and better beef, at less cost and
in shorter time than any other breed of
cattle.
Start today by crossing a good Hereford
bull with your native cows, or lay the foun
dation of a pure-bred Hereford breed by
buying a Hereford bull and a few good
Hert ford cows or heifers.

the war department. The action is
prompted by military necessity. Many
packages are being sent to members
of the expeditionary forces which,
although welcomed by the persons re

have caused the mail and expi’ess to
he increased to such an extent that it
is becoming impossible for the post

to handle them.

This work is hailed with* delight by
the people of the town. The work has

LEMONS WHITEN AND
BEAUTIFY IDE SKIN
Make This Beauty Lotion
Cheaply for Your Face,
Neck, Arms and Hands
At the cost of a small jar of ordi
nary cold cream one can prepare a
full quarter pint of the most wonder
ful lemon, skin softener and complex
ion beautifier, by squeezing the juice
of two fresh lemons into a bottle
containing three ounces of orchard
white. Care should be taken to strain
the juice through a fine cloth so no
lemon pulp gets in, then this lotion
will keep fresh for months. Every
woman knows that lemon juice is
used to bleach and remove such
blemishes as freckles, sallowness and
tan and is the ideal skin softener,
whitener and beautifier.
Just try it! Get three ounces of
orchard white ac any drug store and
two lemons from the grocer and
make up a quarter pint of this sweet
ly fragrant lemon lotion and mas
sage it daily into the face, neck, arms
and hands. It is marvelous to
smoothen rough, red hands. advt.
