ot Blazing, Fiery Eczema
Seems Like the Skin Is on Fire.

caused by Eczema that almost be
comes a torture. The itching is al
most unbearable, and the skin seems
on fire with the burning irritation.

BIRTHS IN AUSTRIA DECREASE
BY HALF IN FOUR YEARS
Tho follow ing statistics dealing
with the effect of the war on he birth
rate in Hungary were read to the
Hungarian Chamber of Deputies:
“Before the war 765,000 children
a year were born in Hungary. In the
first year of the war, 1914, the num
ber of births was reduced by 18,000;
in 1915 only 481,000 children were
born—that is, 284,000 less than in
time of peace. In 1916 the number
of births was 333,000 —a reduction of
432,000. In 1917 the births amount
ed to 327,000. Therefore our losses
(in Hungary alone) behind the front
reach the number of 1,172,866 indi
viduals.
“Whereas in time of peace infant
mortality, for a period of seven years,
was 34 per cent, in 1915 the propor
tion was increased to 48 per cent and
in 1916 to 50 per cent.”
