It did, indeed, for you uncovered the hearTof all
America when you wrote, “/ want to say in closing,
if anything happens to me let's have no mourning
in spirit or in dress, for like a Liberty Bond, it is an
investment, not a loss, when a man dies for his
country."
The Fourth Liberty Loan is now announced.
Do you think, Lieutenant Ely, that we shall
soon forget your admonition —or that we shall not
proudly subscribe for a 1 we possibly can of your

Indeed, we can do no less, for it seems to us
that each subscription blank must bear your parting
salutation —“for like a Liberty Bond, it is an invest

you had to give, a and buoyant, offered
when you had but just arrived at life’s fullest under
standing —and more than this no man can give*

But in the giving, sir, you gave as well the out
pour of your stout young heart— that all of us to
whom you pass along the touch might offer prayer,
and carry on in better understanding of that

to fight, and others kept behinu to carry on at home*
But as you say, both hues bring chance for
deeds well done, and great investments too.
Little did you know, Lieutenant Ely, when you

something from home and loved ones.
The men are issued tobacco, cigar

and when you do they cost quite a bit.
Its rather interesting perhaps what
the French people have to give for
gasoline, in our moneyy they have to
pay about $2.27 per gallon for all
they use, so there is merely one item

this—moisten a cloth with a little
Danderine and carefully draw it
through your hair, taking one small

hair of dust, dirt or excessive oil,
and in just a few moments you have
doubled the beauty of your hair. A

MEN FEEL TIRED, TOO
While much is said about tired wo
men it must be remembered that men
also pay the penalty of overwork.
When the kidneys are weak, inactive,
or siuggish, when one feels tired out
and miserable, lacks energy and am
bition, Foley Kidney Pills are tonic
and strengthening. Wm. H. Clark,
Springfield, Ohio, writes: “I found no
relief from kidney trouble until I
discovered Foley Kidney Pills. Now
I am in A 1 shape.” They act quick
and surely. Carmichael Drug and
