NOTICE OF SALE
Georgia. Butts County.
Whereas, J. A* Burford made,
executed and delivered to J. A.
Jarrell a deed to secure a debt,
recorded in deed book 2, page 45,
in the Office of the clerk of Super
ior Court, Butts County, Georgia,
on March 9th, 1918, conveying cer
tain lands and empowering the sale
thereof by the grantee, said debt
being for the principal sum of
SBO-1.00; and
Whereas, J. A. Burford made, exe
cuted and delivered to the same
grantee another deed to secure an
other debt and empowering the sale
thereof in the same manner, said
debt being for the principal sum
of $600.00, said deed recorded in
deed book 2, page 186 in the office
of the Clerk of Superior Court,
Butts Ga., and
Whereas, the principal sum due
Cos both of said notes aggregating
$1,404.00 and the interest aggre
gates the sum of $725.21.
Now therefore, under and by vir
tue of the power of sale contained
in the deeds executed by* J. A. Bur
ford to J.A. Jarrell, on the 9th day
of March, 1918, and recorded in
the office of the Clerk of Butts
Superior Court of Butts County, in
deed book 2, page 45 and also in
deed book 2, page 186, the under
signed will sell, at public sale, to
the highest bidder, for cash, before
the courthouse door in said coun
ty, during the legal hours of sale,
on the first Tuesday in January,
1928, the following property, to-wit:
One tract of land lying and being
in the County of Butts and State
of Georgia, containing forty-seven
and one-fourth acres, more or less,
and bounded as follows: West by
Board Camp Creek, north by lands
formerly owned by F. R. Burford,
now J. A. Burford, east by lands of
formerly Alex Atkinson and corners
on the south at the Water Oak in
the lands of S. H. Burford, being
the lands conveyed by S. H. Burford
to Mrs. Martha Respass.
This being the land described in
the first described deed to secure
a debt. Also, all that tract or parcel
of land lying and being in the 615th

land, and bounded os follows: on
the north by lands of J. A. Jarrell,
on east by lands of Z. Z. Jinks
estate, on south by lands of J. A.
Burford and on west by lands of
A. C. and R. H. Burford, for the
purpose of paying two certain
promissory notes bearing dates
March 9th, 1918, and January 7th,
1920, the first note due and payable
December Ist, 1918, and the sec
ond note due and payable January
7th, 1921, and made and executed
by the said J. A. Burford, said two
notes being for $1,464.00 principal,
and the first note stipulating for
interest after maturity, and the sec
ond note stipulating for interest
from date, at the rate of 8 per cent
per annum, the total amount due
on said notes being $1,464.00 prin- 1
cipal and $725.21 interest, together 1
with the costs o fthis proceeding as
provided in such deeds.
The proceeds from said sale will
first be applied to the payment of ;
said indebtedness and the payment j
of costs of this proceeding and the ]
remainder will be paid over to J. A.:
Burford the grantor. A conveyance
will be executed to the purchaser
or purchasers by the undersigned,
as authorized in the said deeds.
