INDUSTRIAL BAND IS
CORDIALLY RECEIVED
MEMBERS OF DRUM AND BUGLE
CORPS OF MACON INSTITU
TION ENTERTAINED IN HOMES
OF CITIZENS
The Drum and Bugle corps of the
Georgia Industrial Home, of Macon,
was given a cordial reception dur
ing the visit of members to Jackson
Friday afternoon and night. Mem
bers of the band were entertained
in.,the homes of Jackson qitizens.
A concert was schedhled for Fri
day evening in the court house, but
owing to. the cold weather and a
misunderstanding as to having the
building heated, the concert was
poorly attended and lasted for but
a short time. The band then put on
a concert in the Woman’s club rooms
where the wives of the members
were giving a dinner for their hus
bands. Snappy music delighted the
company for some time, and then a
collection was taken and a consider
able sum was realized. Rev. Walter
Adams, in close touch with the in
stitution for years, made an effec
tive plea for liberal support of this
worthy and deserving institution.
It is always a pleasure for* the
citizens of Jackson and Butts coun
ty to contribute to the support of
an institution that is doing such a
great work for the unfortunate
children of the state.
Pay up and make the other fel
low smile.
Unselfish Christmas giving brings
the greatest pleasure.
