ACTIVITIES DURING YEAR
Several years ago those who were
much disposed to criticise and find

this question being asked, in fact
so far as I am concerned I have
always been glad to enlighten those
who do not know. But I have de
cided that possibly a good many peo
ple would like to have a better idea
of my duties and what I actually
do and am giving below a condensed
summary of my annual report. 1
am required to keep a daily record
of my work, summarize it at the
end of each month and again at the
end of each year.
My record show’s that during the
year I have:
Visited 727 farmers.
Had 2,378 office calls relating to

Had 487 similar calls over tele
phone.
Wrote 60 news articles for the
press.
Spcvtt 60 days in the office.
Spent 237 days in the field.
Wrote 2,370 letters relating to
work.
Distributed 1,550 bulletins.
Enrolled 181 boys and girls in
club work.
Of these approximately 70 per
cent or 130 actually did their work.

Held 37 committee and other

meetings relating to work.
Total attendance at these meet
ings 1,031.
Carried 18 boys to Camp Wilkins
for a week of training.
Also carried 6 girls.
Secured cooperation of State- Vet
erinary Department in carrying on
cow testing work for six months in
which about 90 per cent of the com
mercial dairymen of the county en
rolled their herds. All herds from
which milk was shipped were test
ed for tuberculosis and found to be
free.
Through dairy association truck
transportation w r as adopted instead
of by rail which has meant a great
saving in time for the farmers.
Have been instrumental in placing
two Jersey bulls of gold medal
breeding from one of the best herds
in the South at the head of two
pure bred herds in the county. Three
ether Jersey bulls from the State
College herd have l also been placed.
Have culled out 270 hens from
1927 hens examined.
Have held four poultry sales at
which $2,060 worth w'as sold.
Have aided in buying cooperative
ly 7.500 lbs. vetch seed, 2,200 lbs.
Austrian peas, 1,000 lbs. sweet
clover and a large number of orders
for miscellaneous seeds such as,
lespedeza, carpet grass, Dallis grass,
barley, rye, etc. have been handled.
Sold two cars of oats, two cars of
straw, one car of corn and one, of
hay. ,

Jackson, Ga., Dec. 16, 1927. Dear
Santa: Wanted to write to you but
don’t know what to ask you to bring
me. There are so many things I am
wanting this Christmas. I want a
real watch, pair of bedroom slippers,
bolt and a tent if it isn’t asking too
much of you. Mother and daddy
Paul will be in North Carolina
again this Christmas. Don’t forget
them and please don’t forget my
teacher, Miss Cowan. Am trying
awfully hard to be a good boy. Love

Santa: I am nine years old and go
ing to school and in the third grade.
I love my teacher and school mates.
I love to go to school and Sunday
school. Santa, please don’t forget
to come Christmas and bring us all
something. Bring my little brother
a banjo if you have one. He wants
one so bad. Bring me just what you
want me to have and all the little
children. I thank you, dear Santa,
for all the nice things you have
brought me and I’ll be a good little

Flovilla,Ga., Dec. 17. Dear Old
Santa Claus: I am a little boy 7
years old. I go to school and am in
the second grade. My teacher is
Miss Sara Smith. Bring her some
thing too. I want you to bring me
a capbuster, some caps, a knife and
chain, a horn and lots of fruits.
Don’t forget my little sister and bro
thers. Please don’t forget mother
and daddy. Will close, your little

Dear Santa: I am a little girl and
I go to school every day. I haven’t
missed a day. I am in the first
grade and my sister is the teacher
and I love her very much. I want
you to bring me a big doll and
some firecrackers, oranges, apples,
