NOTICE OF SALE
Georgia, Butts County. .
Whereas, J. A. Burrora made,
executed and delivered to J. A.
Jarrell a deed to secure a debt,
recorded in deed Look 2, page 45,
in the office of the clerk of Super
ior Court, Butts County, Georgia,
on March 9th, 1918, conveying cer
tain lands and empowering the sale
thereof by the grantee, said debt
being for the principal sum of
$864.00; and
Whereas, J. A. Burford made, exe
cuted and delivered to the same
grantee another deed to secure an
other debt and empowering the sale
thereof in the same manner, said
debt being for the principal sum
of $600.00, said deed recorded in
deed book 2, page 186 in the office
of the Clerk of Superior Court,
Butts County, Ga., and
Whereas, the principal sum due
on both of said notes aggregating
$1,464.00 and the interest aggre
gates the sum of $725.21.
Now therefore, under and by vir
tue of the power of sale contained
in the deeds executed by J. A. Bur
ford to J. A. Jarrell, on the 9th day
of March, 1918, and recorded in
the office of the Clerk of Butts
Superior Court of Butts County, in
deed book 2, page 45 and also in
deed book 2, page 186, the under
signed will sell, at public sale, to
the highest bidder, for cash, before
the courthouse door in said coun
ty, during the legal hours of sale,
on the first Tuesday in January,
1928, the following property, to-wit:
One tract of land lying and being
in the County of Butts and State
of Georgia, containing forty-seven
and one-fourth acres, more or less,
and bounded as follows: West by
Board Camp Greek, north by lands
formerly owned by F. It. Burford,
row J. A. Burford, east by lands of
formerly Alex Atkinson and corners
is: the south at the Water Oak in
ilic lands of S. H. Burford, being
the lands conveyed by S. H. Burford

purpose of paying two certain
promissory notes bearing dates
March 9th, 1918, and January 7th,
1920, tho first note due and payable
December Ist, 1918, and the sea
end note due and payable January
7th, 1921, ami made and executed
by the said J. A. Burford, said two
■notes being for $1,464.00 principal,

Burford *the grantor. A conveyance

as authorized in the said deeds.

APPLICATION FOR CHARTER
State of Georgia, Butts County.
To the Superior Court of Said
County:
The petition of Ben Cleveland of
Butts County, Georgia, respectfully
shows to the eourt:
1. That he desires for himself,
his associates and successors, to be
incorporated and made a body poli
tic under the name and style of
“INDIAN SPRINGS COMPANY,”
for the period of twenty years, with
the right to renew said charter at
the expiration of said time,
2. The principal office of said
company shall be in the town of In
dian Springs, State and County
aforesaid, but petitioners desire the
right to establish branch offices
within this State or elsewhere, when
ever the holders of a majoi’ity of
the stock may so determine.
3. The capital stock of said cor
poration shall bg Ten Thousand
Dollars, with the privilege of in
creasing same to the sum of One
Hundred Thousand Dollars, by a
majority vote of the stockholders,
said stock to be divided into shares
of one hundred dilars each. Ten per
cent of the amount of capital stock
has been actually paid in. Petition
ers desire the right to have the sub
scriptions to said capital stock paid
in money or property to be taken at
a fair valuation.
4. The object of said coporation
is pecuniary gain to itself and its
shareholders.
5. The said coporation desires to
engage particularly in the real es
tate business, including the buying,
selling, leasing, renting real prop
erty, impi'oved and unimproved,
either in their cwn name or as
agents for others, including the
right: to biuld, improve and give liens
thereon whenever necessary. Also
the right to acquire, hold, sell, and
deal in stocks and bonds and invest
ment securities generally, to loan
money and take security therefor,
to borrow and secure the payment
thereof by conveyance, mortgage,
or pledge of the assets of the cor
poration, to indorse and guarantee
notes, mortgages and other pecunia
ry interest, with the right to do any
of the above acts for its own account
or as agent or broker on commission
basis; and to act as selling agent
for others and as agent for brokers
and commission companies.
6. Petitioners desire the right to
sue and be sued, to plead and be
impleaded, to have and use a com
mon seal, to make all neccessary by
laws and regulations, and to do all
other things that may be neccessary
for the successful carrying on of
said business, including the right to
buy, hold, and sell real estate and
personal pi-operty suitable to the
purpose of the corporation, and to
execute notes and bonds as evidence
of indebtedness incurred, or which
may be incurred, in the conduct of
the affairs of the corporation and to
secure the same by mortgage, se
curity-deed or other form of lien,
under existing laws.
7.. They desire the right to wind
up its affairs, liquidate and discon
tinue its business at any time it
may determine to do so by a vote
of two-thirds of its stock outstand
ing at the time. Also the right of
renewal when and as provided by
law, and that it have ali such other

rights, powers and privileges and!
immunities as are incident to like
corporations or permissible under
the laws of Georgia.

Atlanta, Ga.—The value of Geor
gia crops for 1927 .was placed by
the co-operative crop reporting
board at, $250,000,000, an increase
of nearly $39,000,000 over that for
last year, and 9 per cent above the
five year average from 1922-26.
The estimate compared with
$211,804,000 in 1926; $232,045
000 in 1925, and $257,621,000 in
1924.
The total value the state’s
principal crops in> the order of
their importance was given in the
report as follors:
