While in Jackson Tuesday Mr. L..
R. Dodson, a well known citizen of 1
Iron Springs district, authorized the
announcement that fee would be a
candidate for treasurer of Butts
county in the primary nert year. It
is his intention to place his forma:
announcement before the voters the
first week in January. Mr. Dodson
served as tax collector of the coun- !
tv and is a man well known to the ■
voters. He is a member of the coun
ty executive committee from Iron
Springs district and takes an active
interest in public affairs. He has
a large number of friends who will
: give him support in his race.
Mr. L. L. Greer will also be a
candidate for treasurer, he states.
Mr. Greer served as tax receiver

FUNERAL OF MRS. FOSTER
WAS LARGELY ATTENDED
Funeral services ftr Mrs. Susan
nah Foster, one of Butts e unty's
most prominent and beloved women,
who died on December 21, were
held at Fellowship church Thursday
afternoon at 2 o’clock. Her pastor.
F.ev. Julian Warner, conducted the
impressive rites in the presence of
a large number of friends. Many
visitors from other counties were
present to pay a last tribute of re
spect to this good woman. Attesting
the high esteem in which she was
held were many lovely floral offer
ings. The pallbearers were Messrs.
K. M. Fletcher, Van Fletcher, C. W.
F etcher, T. B. Fletcher. David Gab
lard and Mack Ridgeway .Interment
was in the family lot in Fellowship
cemetery.
