Stop Chills
and Fever!
Rid Your System of Malaria!
Shivering with chills one moment nd
burning with fever the next —that’s one
of the effects of Malaria. Unless checked,
the disease will do serious harm to your
health. Malaria, a blood infection, calls
for two things. First, destroying the in
fection in the blood. Second, building
up the blood to overcome the effects of
the disease and to fortify against further
attack.
Grove’s Tasteless Chill Tonic supplies
both these effects. It contains tasteless
quinine, which kills the infection in the
blood, and iron, which enriches and
builds up the blood. Chills and fever
soon stop and you are restored to health
and comfort. For half a century, Grove’s
Tasteless Chill Tonic has been sure relief
for Malaria. It is just as useful, too, as a
general tonic for old and young. Pleasant
to take and absolutely harmless. Safe to
give children. Get a bottle at any store.

MACON MEETING WILL
FEATURE MEAT CURING
CURING PLANTS HAVE PROVED
WORTH TO FARMERS. MEET
ING IN MACON TO BE HELD
OCTOBER ELEVENTH
The fifth annual Meat Curing
School will be held at the Municipal
Auditorium at Macon, Ga., on Oetc
ber 11, 9:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. This
school is held annually under the au
spices of the Georgia Ice Manufac
turers Association, working in con
nection with the Georgia State Ag
ricultural College and state ana
county demonstrating ager.is
throughout the state. A general invi
tation is extended to all Southern
farmers as well as ice and cold storage
men in the South, to attend the
school which is conducted free of
charge. 1 ■ . i
The mseting will be opened with
an address by Mr. John Cumbee on
the “Proper Handling and Curing of
Meat by Refrigeration,” followed by
an address by Dr. J. M. Sutton.
State Veterinarian, his subject being
“Suggestions as to the Proper Pork
Production,” after Which a general
round-the-table discussion will be
made on all points of refrigeration,
and every detail worked out neces
sary for the proper preparation and
curing of meat for farmers and those
interested in the care of pork.
Amazing benefits from these
meetings are being noted throughout
the state. There are now over 100
plants in Georgia that are giving spe
cial attention to this feature. This
last season alone, there was over 10,-
000,000 pounds cured by the various
ice companies in South Georgia, and
meat thus cured has always brought
a premium.
It is very gratifying to know how
well these meetings are being at
tended. Two years ago the meeting
was held at Thomasville and there
was about 100 in attendance. It was
so satisfactory that in October last
year at he Statesboro meeting there
was a registration of 242, and it is
expected that the meeting at Macon
will be in excess of 300 in attend
ance. Farmers everywhere who have
cured their meat by refrigeration STe
very enthusiastic and it behooves ev
eryone who is raising or contemplat
ing raising one or more hogs to at
tend in person and gather facts that
will be brought out.

fore the state public works advisory
board in a few days, as the result of
action taken Monday by the Boar 1

Chevrolet has sold In oxcass of 425,000 passenger cars and tracks.
.dgrrißStsy America can’t be fooled when it comes to spotting the best
“buy” in any field. America knows too much about motor
cars for that. So when one certain car wins almost as many buyers
as the next two put together, you know the answer: IT MUST BE
BETTER. And that’s what the new Chevrolet Six most certainly is.
Chevrolet is better looking—Chevrolet has better bodies—built not
just of steel alone, but of steel reinforced by a sturdy hardwood frame.
Chevrolet has a better engine—six cylinders for economy, cushion bal
ancing for killing vibration! And Chevrolet gives better value—a long
line-up of modem features which no other low-priced car can match.
Now is the time to start thinking about a new car for winter! And
when you do so, think of the way Chevrolet is leading in sales. Could
you ask for any stronger recommendation for a low-priced car than that?
