Following its meeting Tuesday
night, the Kiwanis clul> adjourned
to the .Jackson CCC camp for a pro
gram l>y the members under tln
direction of Mrs. J. C. Newton. This
consisted <>l a number of songs and
instruments numbers by boys of the
camp, and also songs by the Kiwanis
club. Mrs. Newton praised the-pro
gress made by the boys since she
had been directing the music and
great improvement was noted, it,
was pointed out.

Fact No. 2 —This year, motorists in
various parts of the country made the
“two-trip” test. They made two trips to
some distant point, using a well-known
25c oil on the first trip, and Gulf-lube
on the second. In every one of these tests
made thus far, Gulf lube has showed the
lowest oil consumption!
Several short talks were made by
members of the club, all expressing
appreciation for the work done at
Indian Springs and lauding the cor
dial relations existing between the
camp personnel and citizens of the
community The hope was expressed
that the boys, many of whom are
soon to be discharged after a year
of service, will meet with success as
they go out into the business world.

P. H. Weaver, mayor of Jackson; W.
VV. Wright and R. P. Sasnett. Cap
tain Kaufman responded for the hoys
expressing appreciation for the in
terest, and kindness of Butts county
citizens.
Mr. Eugne Daniel, pastor of the
Prsebyterian church, was a guest of
the club at its meeting and Mr. F, G.
Varner, of Indian Springs, was wel
comed as anew member. Dinner
was served by the U. D. Mrs. L.
M. Crawford chairman.

BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES
The text for Sunday morning ser
vice will be Isaiah 53-7. The church
is very comfortable even on hot days.
Everybody invited.

Field Day Will Be
Held at CCC Camp
The field day exercises of the
Jackson CCC camp, scheduled for
Saturday, has been changed to Fri
day, June 29.
Attractive prizes are announced
for the winers in the several events.
In the cross country run, twenty
five cakes will be given to the first
25 to come in.
Winners in the shot put and dis
cuss, high jump, pole vault will re
ceive ice cream.
There will 'be other interesting
prizes for the several events making
up teh day’s program.
The public is cordially invited to

Efforts are being made to obtain
a military band to furnish music
for the occasion.
JACKSON BOWLING ALLEYS
TO OPEN HERE SATURDAY
Announcement is made of the
opening Saturday, June 30, of the
Jackson Bowling Alleys in the old
post office building adjoining the ex
press office. Standard equipment
is being installed and the building
comfortably arranged. Otho (Red)
