By virtue of an order of the
Court of Ordinary of said county,
gi anted at the December term, 1935,
wi 1 be sold before the courthouse
door of said county, on the first
Tuesday in January, 1936, within
the legal hours of sa’e, the following
described property. AH that tract
or parcel of land lying and being in
the town of Jenkinsburg, Butts
county, Georgia, with a six room
house thereon, said contains one acre
and bounded as follows: On the
north by lot of Dr. B. F. Akin (form
erly S. L. Johnson), on the east by
lot of Mrs. J. A. Vandergriff, on
the south by Southern Railway Cos.,
on the west by Oak Street and pub
lic road.
Said above described property
will be sold as the property of Mon
roe Gray, deceased, by W. E. Gray,
Administrator, for the purpose of
payment of debts and distribution of
said estate. Terms cash.

By virtue of power of sale con
tained in a deed executed to secure
debt, executed by Mrs. I). N. Car
michael to Mrs. W. F. MaLaier on
the 13th day of February, 1935, re
corded in Deed Book No. (!, page
■406, Clerk’s office Butts Superior
Court, and because of default in the
payment of the sum of $700.00 prin
cipa' and interest at the rate of 8
percent from date, which was payable
on demand, and for the further pur
pose of perfecting titles to the land
therein described, the undersigned
will offer for sale on the first Tues
day in January, 1936, between the
legal hours of sale, a one-half un
divided interest in the following de
scribed lands:
270 acres, more or less, situated
in said county and state, being in
the 610th district Cl. M., bounded
on the north by Jack and W. D. Col
lins estate, east by VV. B. McLendon
south by lands of Mrs. J. A. Lane
and on the west by Towaliga river.
Said above described lands will be
sold to the highest bidder and titles
will lie made to the purchaser by
the grantee in said security deed, to
wit, Mrs. W. F. MaLaier.

By virtue of the powers contained
in a security deed executed July
23rd, 1934, by Troy H. Vickers to
HOME OWNERS’ LOAN CORPOR
ATION, said deed being recorded in
Book 9, Folio 363-4. of the records
of the Clerk of the Superior Court
of Butts County, Georgia, there will
be sold at pub'ie outcry before the
Court House door in Butts County,
Georgia, to the highest bidder for
cash by HOME OWNERS' CORPOR
ATION, as attorney-in-fact for the
raid Troy H. Vickers, during tin
legal hours of sale on the first Tues
day in January, 1936, the following
described property, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of ’and
lying and being in the City of Flo
villa, Georgia, County of Butts,
bounded as follows:
North by E'der Street; east by
Blount Street; south by City Lot No.
4; west by Southern Railway Right
of way; and more particualrly de
scribed according to the plat made
by Robert T. Dempsey on June 26th,
1934: BEGINNING at the south
east corner of Railroad Street and
Elder Street and running south along
Railroad Street or Southern Rail
way 112.4 feet; thence east 214.1
feet; thence north 118.3 feet; thence
west 214.1 feet to starting point.
These powers are being exercised
and the said property sold by the
undersigned, as aforesaid, for the
purpose of paying off the indebted
ness secured by said deed in the
principal sum of $960.00 with ac
crued interest computed to Novem
her 23, 1935, in the sum of $64.00,
as evidenced by a certain note execu
ted and delivered July 23, 1934 in
the amount of $960.00 by the said
Troy H. Vickers payable to th' 1
older of HOME OWNERS’ COR
PORATION and fully described in
the security deed referred to herein
above, said note and deed providing
that in the event of default in pay
ment of any instalment for a period
of ninety (90) days that the holder
may declare the entire indebtedness
due and collectible.
NOW, whereas the said Troy 11.
Vickers having defaulted in such in
stallment payments for more than
ninety days, the undersigned has
declared the entire indebtedness due
by reason of said default and in ac
cordance with the terms of said note
and deed.
The above described property wi’l
be sold, subject to unpaid taxes for
1934 and 1935, to the highest bidder
for cash and the proceeds will be
applied to said indebtedness and the
lawful expense of said sale, and as
provided in the deed.

GEORGIA DRY LAW IS
HELD VALID BY COURT
HIGH TRIBUNAL RULES THAT
STATE DRY ACT NOT RE
PEALED BY LEGISLATURE
CASE FROM BAINBRIDGE.
Atlanta, Ga.—An attack on th;
Georgia dry law, maintainiing that
•(•peal was effected by the sstate
1< grilature in the act providing a
liquor referendum, was ruled invalid
by th*- State Supreme Court Mon-
day.
Anothee case involving the same
contention is pending before the
court. Other litigants have sought
ic prove dry law repealed on the
grounds that technically eligible re
turns from the referendum favored
repeal. The drys carried Georgia
by less than 300 votes.
The ruling Monday came in the
case of Byron Reynolds, convicted ir.
Bainbridge city court of possessing
v hisky and beer.
He was fined SSOO and appealed
for anew trial. This appeal was
denied and he excepted, renewing
his contention of invalidity Of the
dry law .taking the case to the
Supreme Court.
