CHRISTMAS CAROLS
little town
Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark street shineth
The Everlasting Light,
The hopes and fears of all the years,
1 Are met in thee tonight.
For Christ is born of Mary,
And gathered all above,
While mortals sleep the angels keen
Their watch of wondering love.
Oh morning stars, together,
the Holy Birth,
praises sing to God the King,
peace to men on earth.
wjffow silently, how silently.
The wondrous gift is given!
For God imparts to human hearts,
The blessings of His Heaven.
No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin.
■ Where meek souls will receive Him
still,
The dear Christ enters in.
Oh Holy Christ, of Bethlehem!
Descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin, and enter in,
' Be born in us today.
'Vfe hear the Christmas angels
§ The great glad tidings tell;
p j come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel!
SILENT NIGHT
Silent Night! Holy Night!
All is calm, all is bright!
Round yon Virgin Mother and
Child!
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
heavenly peace.
H| ji> in heavenly peace.
Night! Holy Night!

■A stream from heaven afar

And still their heavenly music floats.
O’er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains
They bend on hovering wing.
And ever o’er its Babel sounds
The blessed angels sing
\et with the woes of sin and strife
The world hath suffered long,
Beneath the angel-strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong,
And man, at war with man, hears
not
The love song which they bring
Oh, hush the noise ye men of strife
And hear the angels sing.
And ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way,
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! For glad and golden
hours
Come swiftly on the wing;
0 rest beside the weary road,
And hear the angels sing.
For lo the days are hastening on
by prophet-bards foretold,
When with the everccircling years
Come round the age of gold
When peace shall over the eaarth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And the whole world sends back the
song,
Which now, the angels sing.
A CHRISTMAS WISH
May your ship of Christmas dreams
come sailing
Safe to its port, and sound;
May its cargo of cheer be full this
year,
And last till the next rolls ’round.
