Court of Ordinary of said county,

Tuesday in January, 1936, within
the legal hours of sa’e, the following
described property. All that tract
or parcel of land lying and being in
the town of Jenkinkburg, Butt*
county, Georgia,, with a six room
house thereon, said contains one acre
and bounded as follows: On the
north by lot of Dr. B. F. Akin (form
erly 8. L. Johnson), on the oast by
lot of Mrs. J. A. Vartdergriff, on
the south by Southern Railway Cos.,
on the west by Oak Street and pub
lic road.
Said above described property
will be sold as the property of Mon
roe Gray, deceased, by VV. E. Gray,
Administrator, for the purpose of
payment of debts and distribution of
said estate. Terms cash.

michael to Mrs. W. F. MaLaier on
the 13th day of February, 1935, re
forded in Deed Book No. 0, page
166, Clerk’s office Butts Superior
Court, and because of default in the
payment of the sum of $700.00 prin
cipal and interest at the rate of 8
percent from date, which was payable
tut demand, and for the further pur
pose of perfecting titles to the land
therein described, the undersigned
will offer for sale on the first Tues
day in January, 1936, between the
legal hours of sale, a one-half un
divided interest in ihe following de
scribed lands:
270 acres, more or less, situated
in said county and state, being in
the 610th district G. M., bounded

principal sum of $960.00 with ac
crued interest computed to Novem
her 23, 1935, in the sum of $64.00,
as evidenced by a certain note execu
ted and delivered July 23, 1934 in
the amount of $960.00 by the said
Troy H. Vickers payable to the
order of HOME OWNERS’ COR
PORATION and fully described in
the security deed referred to herein
above, said note and deed providing
that in the event of default in pay
ment of any installment for a period
of ninety (90) days that the holder
may declare the entire indebtedness
due and collcctiLie.
NOW, whereas the said Troy 11.
Vickers having defaulted in such in
stallment payments for more than
ninety days, the undersigned has
declared the entire indebtedness due
by reason of said default and in ac
cordance with the terms of said note
and deed.
The above described property wi'l
be sold, subject to unpaid taxes for
1934 and 1935, to the highest bidder
for cash and the proceeds will be
applied to said indebtedness and the
lawful expense of said sale, and as
provided in the deed.

Christmas was observed in a quiet
and enjoyable manner in Butts coun
ty and there was an absence of any
serious accidents,, so far as reports
have been received.
All business was su.spendec'
Christmas day, the postofficc was
closed and mail carriers enjoyed a
holiday.
Christmas eve was one of the bus -

iest days reported here in years.
Many merchants report their sales
in excess of any year since 1929.
Many were sold out entirely, this
being true of fruits, ets. All busi
ness men seemed pleased with the
volume of sales'. Thousands of shop
pers lined the streets Tuesday.
While the holiday period was a
quiet one in Butts county,
from over the nation show nearly
150 persons met violent death. High
way accidents claimed the heaviest
toll, but fire and explosions were
bsted as the cause of many fatali
ties.

gia, the report show.
$5,348,000 Paid
To State Famiiies
Of CCC Members
Washington, D. C. —The Civilian
Conservation Corps reported Monday
30,935 men enrolled from Georgia
since CCC was launched in April.
1933, had sent home to dependents
$5,348,000 as of December 1.
The basic cash allowance paid cn-
rolled CCC men is S3O a month. All
onrollees with the exception of a
few war veterans and locally enrolled
men allot approximately $25 of their
S3O to dependents immediately upon
joining CCC.
Members of the CCC in the eight
states of the Fourth Corps Area
have sent $36,692,506 home to their
families, and have been paid SB,-
806,201 individually since the CCC
was established two and a half years
ago.
