ment is in store for movie fans who
plan to attend the shows at the
Princess Theater next week.
Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19
brings “A Night At the Opera fea
turing the Marx Brothers and Kitty
j Carlisle and Allan Jones. This is
considered by critics to be the fun
nest picture filmed in the last ten
years. It is opera such as has never
been seen before, as the Marxes
M-G-M’s Merry Madmen, as they
are called —become matchmakers to
further the romance of two unknown
opera singers, Kitty Carlisle and
Allan Jones. You‘ll howl at their
humorous and crazy antics from the
time they leave Italy until they reach
New York for the opera season. Don’t
go unless you are willing to roil in
the aisles with laughter.
Fox Movietone News never fails
to please the fans on Monday and
Tuesday evenings.
IT’S IN THE AIR”
“It’s In the Air” starring Jack
Benny, radio’s ace entertainer, will
be the attraction for Wednesday
and Thursday, May 20-21. Benny,
Una Merkel, Nat Pendleton, Mary
Carlisle and Ted Ilealy are all to
gether in the season’s most hilarious
escapade. Benny and Una Merkel
are funny enough individually but
when you get them together in one
peture you can be sure you’ll get
double your money’s worth.
The comedy for these datees is,
“Fight Is Right.”
“THE LAWLESS NINETIES”
“DARKEST AFRICA”
Action galore marks the presenta
tion of “The Lawless Nineties” with
John Wayne as the hero with pretty
Ann Rutherford having the leading
feminine role. Also chapter 3 of
"Darkest Africa” which is “Bat Men
of Joba.” A good comedy and short
subjects will complete the program.
