CHURCH NEWS
There will be a Vacation Bible
School Conference conducted by
workers of the state board at the
Flovilla Baptist church at 2 p. m.
on Wednesday, April 30. Pastors,
superintendents and Sunday school
workers are expected to attend.
The harvest song, “Bringing in
the Sheaves,” opened the preach
ing service on Sunday morn
ing. The scripture lesson was Gal.
6; the text being verse 9. This
sermon by the pastor closes the se
ries on the symbols in the memorial
windows. A sheaf of ripe wheat
was chosen for the window memo
ralizing James M. Crawford
and Annie L. Crawford because
both husband and wife loved the
harvest; they loved to sow and reap.
The question in the hearts of Chris
tians today is, “Are we sowing the
seeds of the gospel? what shall we
reap?”
This service was a fitting prelude
to the revival meeting which will be
held April 27-May 5; there will be
two services daily, at 7:45 a. m.
and at 8 p. m. Dr. J. Ellis Sam
mons, of the Vineville Baptist
church, Macon, will be the guest
preacher and the pastor, Rev. Gai
ther A. Briggs, will be the song
leader. The public is invited to at
tend.
