GEORGIA, BUTTS COUNTY:
By reason of a default in payment
of the third note in the principal sum
of $2,000.00, plus interest theron,
there will be sold by the undersigned,
in front of the Court house door in
Butts County, Georgia, on the first
Tuesday in September, 1947, during
the legal hours of sale to the highest
bidder, for cash, the following de
scribed property, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of land
lying and being in the 616th District,
G. M., of Butts County, part of lot
number Two Hundred Forty-Nine
(249) and part of lot Two Hundred
Forty-Nine (249) of Eighth District
of originally Henry County, now
Butts County, Georgia. Bounded on
the north by lands of M. F. Knowles,
east by lands of M. F. Knowles and
B. T. Deason Estate, south by lands
of B. T. Deason and J. Tom Stewart
estates and lands of Mrs. Mary Gray,
and on the west by lands of Mrs.
Gray and lands of J. C. Maddox es
tate, containing two hundred two
and one-half (202%) acres, more or
less. Also in the 616th District, G. M.
one and three quarter (l-3/4ths)
acres, more or less, described as fol
lows: Beginning at the southwest
corner of lands of W. E. Watkins, J.
H. Carmichael estate and J. H. Mc-
Kibben, and the southwest corner of
the above described land and extend
ing thence along the north and south
line, north approximately
118 yards to a white oak, thence west
to the east bank of ditch, about 81
yards, thence along the east bank of
said ditch to point 15 yards
from the east and west line of
said grantors (original), thence
across said branch to the west bank;
thence along said west bank to the
south line, thence east to the begin
ning point, being improved property
and having a dwelling house located
thereon, a barn and other farm build-
ings.
Said property will be sold as the
property of H. G. WALTON, under
and by virtue of the power and au
thority contained in a certain deed
to secure debt from H. G. WALTON
to MRS. EVA K. JOHNSON, dated
November 1, 1945, and recorded in
Deed Book 14, page 598-9 of the
Butts County Records.
Said property will be sold subject
to a First Loan Deed In Favor of
Federal Land Bank of Columbia in
the approximate sum of $900.00;
also all unpaid taxes.

Bonnie Carr Caston, the widow of
J. B. Caston, late of said county, de
ceased, has made application to con
vey the property and/or assign the
securities which were set aside as
a year’s support for the benefit of
said widow and the minor children
of said deceased, by the Court or
Ordinary of said county as recorded
in Year’s Support Book B on page
77, the purpose of said conveyance
and/or assignment being for the
purpose of maintenance and support
of herself and said minor children.
Said application will be heard before
the ordinary of said county at the
courthouse in said county at 10
o’clock a. m. on the 23rd day of
August, 1947, at which time objec
tions if any to the granting of said

We bin had er lot uf mussic in our
naborhood uf late. The Gospel High
Sextette is done give two conserts
and is planning on the third next
Friday nite. There is 3 wommens and
3 mens in the sextette and they shore
can sing. Dont nobody round Hard
Scrabble know none uf em and that
makes us all preshiate them more’n
if we did. Some uf the wommens
can show make them high notes, so
high that the babies in the crowd gits
skeered and sometimes they has to
take em out uf the exibishun hall.
The singers alius has good crowds
and all the young gals in the nabor
hood done went wild bout them good
lookin men in the sextette. Likewise
the boys round Hard Scrabble done
lost they heads bout them singin gals
and wants to bring em to our settle
ment ter live. First thing we knows
that sextette will be all broke up by
Dan Cuppid. The singers done bin
all over Georgia singin fer anybody
whot would lissen ter em. We aint
never bin but if we keeps hearin so
much bout they singin we mout have
to go thru curoserty.
