This was the regular February meeting and there was only a few business matters to be considered. Mrs. Hugh Mallet was program ■ chairman and presented a Georgia Day program. Mrs. Levi Ball gave P some pertinent facts on Georgia | since its founding. Mrs. Mallet gave | a paper on “Planting Now for Sum ;f. mer Enjoyment.” Mr. Manley Vinson showed a tech nicolor film on Beauty for the Home and Industrial Grounds. UPSILON CHAPTER MEETS The highlight of the Upsilon chap ter, Delta Kappa Gamma, meeting held Saturday, was the sharing of i experiences on satisfactions of teach . ing. Many and varied were the re ports which were given and each one showed that when it comes to satisfaction, teachers are overpaid. The meeting was held at Glide well’s with the Butts county group as hostesses. A delicious luncheon was served, and the chapter colors of red and geld were used in the dining room. * * i DAR TO MEET FEBRUARY 22 The members of the William Mc- Intosh Chapter,, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet Fri day afternoon, February 22, at 3:30 o’clock with Mrs. James Buchanan, Mrs. L. Mr. Maddox suffer ed a cerebral hemorrhage ten days ago, and has been in the hospital since then. Mr. J. Fred Williams of Atlanta spent the weekend with relatives in Jackson. Mrs. Joe Ingram is in West Palm Beach, Fla. with her son, Mr. Oswald Ingram, who underwent an operation for a brain tumor several days ago. Friends in Jackson are glad to know he is doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Carlisle of Austell were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Letson. Freinds of Mr. Roy Letson are glad that he recovering steadily after a recent illness. Mrs. J. B. Harrison leaves Friday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Harrison in Montgomery, Ala. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Harrison of Montgomery spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. J. B. Harrison. Friends of Mrs. Van Jones are glad that she is improving at Pied mont hospital, Atlanta, where she has been for ten days. Mr. and Mrs. James Buchanan and Mr. Clayton Buchanan are at home from Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they spent a month. Mrs. J. J. Qompton has returned from Middle Georgia Hospital, Ma con, where she has been for three weeks. Her condition has improved, her friends are glad to note. Mr. R. V. Smith of Flovilla, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith Jr., Gail and Robert Smith of Hapeville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. But ler Smith and Miss Lucy Ann Smith. Redman Jr. and two children visited Mr. and Mrs. Dean Patrick the past week. They were en reute to San Francisco from where they will sail March Ist to join Lt. Col. Redman in Yokahoma, Japan. Col Redman has been serving in Korea the past 18 months. Mr. and Mrs. Troy Willis were honored Sunday, their 42nd wedding anniversary, with a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Thaker of Mc- Donough. In the afternoon the entire party went up to Atlanta for the Ice Follies of ’52. Little Peggy Carol O’Neal, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy O’Neal, spent the weekend in Glen Haven with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Zollie F. Smith Jr. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wilson spent Sunday in Hogansville with Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Martin Jr. and family. Master Walter Carmichael is in Atlanta this week, having undergone a tonsil operation at Eggleston Hos pital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Avon Gaston and Mrs. E. R. Harper visited Mr. and Mrs. John Reid Gaston and Mrs. J. L. Colwell in Atlanta Sunday. Mrs. W. W. Wright and her daugh ter, Mrs. C. B. Guest Jr. of Athens, went down to Miami to attend the funeral of Mr. R. DeWitt King, long time resident of Miami, but formerly of Atlanta. They returned home Tuesday accompanied by Mr. King’s sister, Mrs. E. L. Riley of Covington, Ky., who is here for a brief visit. Miss Marcia Mallet will spend the weekend with Miss Sylvia Williams at Agnes Scott College. Mrs. C. B. Guest Jr.> and two children, Byron and Janet, of Athens, are guests of Mrs. W. W. Wright.
