Red Skelton,
Lana Turner
Are Dixie Stars
James Stewart and Janet Leigh
are the stars in Thursday and Fri
day’s attraction, “The Naked Spur."
James Stewart plays the role of a
grim, bitter Civil War veteran who
tracks down a murderer and attempts
to bring him to justice. It is a tense,
well-acted melodrama of its kind.
Saturday at the Dixie finds Je
rome Courtland and Beverly Tyler
starring in “The Palomino,” the
story of a famous horse told in glow
ing technicolor.
No one is better qualified to play
the lead role in “The Clown’’ than
Red Skelton, the star in Monday and
Tuesday’s offering at the Dixie. It is
the story of some of the hilarious
hijinks and the not-so-funny heart
breaks that go into the life of a
clown. Jane Greer and Tim Considine
help make Red’s portrayal of “The
Clown” memorable.
Peter Lawford, Richard Greene
and Janice Rule are the stars in
Wednesday’s “Rogue March,” a tale
of flaming adventure and excitement
woven around war and romance of
India’s savage frontier.
Four of Hollywood’s top stars
combine their talents Thursday and
Friday to bring one of the year’s
outstanding pictures to the Dixie
when Lana Turner, Kirk Douglas,
"Walter Pidgeon and Dick Powell star
in “The Bad and the Beautiful.”
Other tup-ranking stars in the film
include Barry Sullivan, Gloria Gra
hame and Gilbert Roland. It is one
of those pictures that should be in
cluded on every moviegoer’s “must”
list.
