I Church -News
■ REV. P. M. MINTER, Pa.tor
■ The Georgia phase of the United
Evangelistic Mission closed Sunday,
Kill 26, with Victory Rallies in key
Hints of each district. It was report-
H at the Griffin mass meeting Sun-
Hv afternoon that more than 10,-
|i additions had been made to the
Horgia Methodist churches through
Hursday night. Included in this num
|, were 16 for the Jackson church
Hd two for the Jenkinsburg charge.
■ This Misison has done much more
|an bring new folk into the mem
|rship of the Church. In the visita-
l on program t’ie object was to get
|mmitments to the acceptance of
|sus Christ as Lord and Saviour and
| purpose to live the Christian life.
■ is recognized that most people do
■elieve in God and Jesus Christ as
■ecorded in the Holy Bible, but even
|e devils believe this. Not those who
■now, but those who do the will of
Bod enjoy the blessings of our Lord.
Bhus having committted one’s self to
Khristian living with the help of
■'hrist, the next logical step is to
■ork for Him through some church.
I The next phase of making this
lave lasting results will be the help
Ihat will be given these new mem
lers in fellowship and service, as
■veil as worship, through the church,
lellow'ship friends will be assigned
|o them to help them grow in their
Spiritual lives.
We feel that the whole Church
ias had their spiritual lives deepen
ed, and much more good has been
iccomplished than be known at this
time.
Next Friday, May 1, the Georgia
ministers will go to Chattanooga,
Tenn., to begin the Mission there.
The local pastors, Rev. P. M. Minter (
and Rev. J. R. Thompson, will, be
working in Cleveland, at the Big
Springs and Cleveland Circuit, re
spectively.
The services in the Jackson Meth
odist Church will be in charge of the
Emory student, Eugene Eaddy, Sun
day, May 3. Those who have not been
privileged to hear him in the regular
third Sunday night youth services
will find in him one of our most
promising young ministers. He is not
only one of the finest in character,
but he can preach so as to feed your
soul.
The real strength of any form of
evangelism is in prayer. You can help
the Mission in Tennessee through
your prayers.
