Installation of officers to serve
for the 1953-54 school year will be

Jackson PTA meets on Thursday
evening, May 7, at the Jackson
Grammar school auditorium.
Miss Elizabeth Finley will have
charge of the program, the topic be
ing, “Evaluations.”

DELEGATES TO ALBANY MEET
The Jackson Business and Profes
sional Women’s Club met Monday
evening at the Jackson Woman’s
Clubhouse for its last dinner meet
ing of the club year.

parliamentary law which was helpful

of importance before the club. It was

Delegates were named to the 34th
annual State Convention of B&PW
Clubs to be held in Albany May IS
IS. The convention will open on
Friday afternoon at 2:30 and will
end with breakfast on Sunday morn

ing. The convention site will be the
Hotel Albany.

cers will take place. These new of
ficers will be installed at the dinner
meeting in May. All members are
urged to attend the business meeting
on May 5.
McDonough flower show
BE HELD TUESDAY, MAY 5
The McDonough Woman’s Club
and the Home Demonstration Club
are sponsoring an antique and flow
er show at the Woman’s Clubhouse in
McDonough Tuesday, May 5, from 2
to 5:30 p. m. Proceeds will go to the
McDonough school band. Admission
will be 50 cents.
Members of garden clubs in Jack
son and all interested friends are
•invited to attend the show in Mc-
Donough.
NORTH BUTTS 4-H CLUB
HAD MEETING APRIL 6
The North Butts 4-H club met at
the clubhouse Monday afternoon,
April 6. The meeting was presided
over by Margaret Biles, girls vice
president. Howard Lee Jones gave
the devotional, and the Lord’s Pray
er was repeated in unison. The 4-H
pledge was given and the group join
ed in singing several songs. It was
decided to prepare a gift box for the
club’s needy family on Mother’s Day.
Mrs. Davis gave a demonstration on
making pastry.

Master Bobby Harrison entertain
ed several of his friends at an “In
dian-tent” party Monday in celebra
tion of his fourth birthday.
The small guests received Indian
headdresses and tiny bows and ar
rows as favors. They had exciting
adventures as they played in a hand
some red tent which the honoree re
ceived for his birthday.
At the close of the games, the boys
enjoyed ice cream and individual
cakes embossed \flith miniature choc
olate tents.
Guests of Master Harrison were

l Alan Jones, Jimmie White, Stevie
Ball, Johnny Carter and David Garr.

MADDOX FAMILY REUNION
WAS HELD ON SATURDAY
The G. C. Maddox family enjoyed
a dinner and reunion Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Maddox.
Due to illness in the family at
Christmas, their annual dinner was
omitted. Because of high winds the
table was spread in a large garage
instead of on the lawn as planned.

HAD MEETING APRIL 23
The GA girls of Worthville Bap
tist Church met at the church Thurs
day, April 23, with 13 members an
swering roll call. The president, Car
olyn Clevelantj; had charge of the
business session. The program was
opened by singing We’re A Story To
Tell to the Nations and Carolyn
Cleveland brought the devotional
from Psalms. Mrs. Otis Stephens led
in prayer and Mrs. Alton Kitchens
was program chairman for the meet
ing.
Refreshments were served by Mrs.
Alton Kitchens.

eardrum. She was taken to Eggleston
Clinic in Atlanta for treatment but
is back in school now.
