Barnes Services
Held Saturday
Malvern H. Barnes, well-known
resident of the Lexington Road, died
. a ]ocal hospital Thursday at 1:20
n Mr. Barnes was 63 years old
and was only a short time.
Services will be conducted Satur
day at 3 P- m. from Bernstein’s
Chapel with Rev. Newt Saye and
Rev. D. M. Shultz officiating. Inter
ment will follow in Davis cemetery.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his
w ife, Miss Nina Davis Barnes; a
daughter, Mrs. Harold McLeroy,
Athens; two sisters, Mrs. A. R. Set
zer) Atlanta, and Mrs. Robert
Graves of Toccoa; brother, George
P. Barnes, Flovilla; sister-in-law,
Mrs. W. 0. Barnes, Macon, and two
grandchildren, Janice McLeroy and
Larrv McLeroy; several nieces and
nephews.
A native of Jackson, Ga., Mr.
Barnes had been a resident of this
community for the past 18 years
and was a member of the Tuckston

estate of Mrs. E. A. Greene will be sold at public
auction at the residence of the deceased, located on
Greene Street, Monticello, Georgia, Wednesday,
May 20, 1953.
The house will be open Wednesday at 10
o’clock for inspection and the sale of said items
will begin promptly at 1:30.
There are many antiques consisting of marbie
top tables, vases, china, clocks and many other
items.

Frank W. White, Atlanta, will be
heard in a special service at the
Church of the Nazarene Friday, May
15, at 7:45 p. m.
Mr. White, son of Lewis B. White
and Randie White (Chambers), was
born in Butts county and attended
the Jackson grammar and high
school. He now travels for a large
Chicago chemical firm as manager
of retail sales for the southeast
United States.
Frank, having found Christ as his
personal saviour, has a wonderful
and interesting testimony, which he
has been requested to give at this
special service. Friends and rela
tives are invited to attend this ser
vice and hear his wonderful exper
ience with Christ.
Wendell Welman and Bob Blanch
ard of Atlanta will be with Mr.
White and will sing songs that you
enjoy and appreciate.
The public is invited to attend

Judge Mallory C. Atkinson, one
of the two judges of the Macon
Judicial Circuit, came to Jackson
Monday and drew jurors to serve at
the August term of Butts Superior
Court. |
There was no business ready for
trial and the term was a short one.
Judge Atkinson served in the
place of Judge Frank B. Willingham
of Forsyth, who is recovering from
illness.
