APPLICATION FOR CHARTER

with brings this application for the
granting of a charter for a private
corporation and show the following
facts, to-wit:
1.
They desire for themselves, their
associates and successors to be in
corporated under the name and
style:
PHINAZEE AND McKIBBEN
GRASS COMPANY. INC.
2.
The general nature of the business
to be transacted is the grassing of
highway shoulders, grading, and pav
ing of streets, of sidewalks, and
highways, and driveways; also basing
and similar work on public roads,
highways, streets, sub-divisions, and
work in connection with the improve
ment of public roads, highways,
streets, and sub-divisions.
The capital stock of said corpora
tion will be the sum of Ten Thousand
($10,000.00) Dollars, divided into
One Hundred (100) shares of One
Hundred ($100) Dollars each, 10%.
same being paid'in. Applicants desire
the right to increase the capital stock
to the sum of Twenty Thousand
($20,000.00) Dollars by a majority
vote of the stock outstanding at that
time.
4.
The principal office and place of
business of said corporation shall be
located in Butts County, Georgia, but
the applicants desire the privilege of
establishing branch offices and
places of business in other places.

Applicants desire that the charter
be granted for a period of Thirty
five (35) years With privilege of re
newal at the end of said period.

Attached hereto is certificate from
the Secretary of State declaring that
the name and style of proposed cor
poration is not the name and style
of any existing corporation register
ed with the State of Georgia.

Applicants desire to be incorpora
ted under the Act approved January
28, 1938, known as the “1938 Corpo
ration Law” and any amendments
thereto with all the rights, privileges
and immunities allowed there in.
9.
The purpose of said corporation is
pecuniary gain and profit to its
stockholders.
Wherefore: applicants pray that
they be incorporated under the name
and style aforesaid, with all the
rights, privileges and immunities
sought therein and such other powers
as is necessary and proper to the op
eration or carrying on of said busi
ness as may be allowed like corpora
tions under the laws of Georgia as
they mpy now .or hereafter exists.

The foregoing petition of J. H.
Phinazee, G. C. McKibben, and Rufus
Adams to be incorporated under the
name and style of Phinazee and Mc-
Kibben Grass Company, Inc., read
and considered. It appearing that
said petition is within the purview
and intention of the laws applicable
thereto, and that all of said laws have
been fully complied with, including
the presentation of a certificate from
the Secretary of State as required
by Section 22-1803 of the Code of
Georgia; It is hereby ordered, ad
judged and decreed that all the pray
ers of said petition are granted and
said applicants and their associates,
successors and assigns are hereby in
corporated and made a body politic
under the name and style of Phin
azee and McKibben Grass Company,
Inc. for and during a period of Thir
ty-five (35) years with the privilege
of .renewal at the expiration of that
time according to the laws of Geor
gia, and that said corporation is
hereby granted and vested with all

Funeral Services
For Mrs. Nahlik
Held on Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Floy
Nahlik, who died Friday morning at
the Griffin-Spalding Hospital where
she had been confined since Febru
ary 3rd from critical gun wounds
inflicted in a shooting at her home
on Route 4, Griffin, were held Sun
day afternoon, February 17, at the
Liberty Baptist Church in Hall coun
ty.
Mrs. Nahlik was gravely wounded
and a Negro youth, James Hollis, in
stantly killed when her husband, Leo
Nahlik, found the couple together in
the living room of their Spalding
county home on the Jackson road.
Solicitor General Andrew Whalen
said Friday in Griffin that the death
of Mrs. Nahlik will be considered by
the June session of the Spalding
Grand Jury. The Spalding County
Grand Jury which previously heard
evidence in the case returned no bills
on charges of murder and assault to
murder against Nahlik in the shoot
ing.
Mrs. Nahlik, the former Miss Floy
Estelle Gazaway of Gainesville, Rt.
8, is survived by her husband Leo
Nahlik, Griffin; two children, Leo
Jr. and Andre Nahlik, Griffin, pa
rents, JVIr. and Mrs. George W. Gaza
way, Gainesville; three brothers, M.
C. Gazaway and George W. Gaza
way Jr., Atlanta; Harold Gazaway,
Gainesville. Interment was in the
Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.
The body lay in state at the residence
of Mr. George W. Gazaway, Gaines
ville, Route 8, until funeral time.

Eatonton Twice
In Season Finale
Jackson High’s cagers wrapped up
their regular season play in Eatonton
Friday night with two impressive
victories over the Putnam County
teams. The local lassies annexed
their 11th victory in 17 games this
season, spanking their hosts 57-37.
The Red Devil boys, fighting all
season to even their won-last record,
triumped 44-37 to end their season
with a 8-9 deficit.
Peggy McElheney again led Coach
Powers’ team to victory, scoring 25
points and playing her usual bril
liant game. Faye Mitchell, who has
been scoring heavily in recent games,
continued her good work with 20
points while Sandra Smith had 10.
Mary Hearn had 19 points for Eaton
ton.
