THURSDAY* MAY 2, 1957
“IN MEMORIAM”
Mr. J. Harvey Jackson was born in
Henry county February 12, 1875.
The son of Rev. and Mrs. John A.
Jackson, he lived most of his life in
Henry and Butts counties. He was
happily married to Ola Asbury Jack
son, who was his faithful helpmate
until his death.
He was a member of the Jenkins
burg Baptist Church since the orga
nization of the church in 1912, and
was a faithful deacon since 1917.
To those of us privileged to have
walked in life’s pathway with Mr.
Jackson, as he helped to make real
the Kingdom of God, as he manifest
ed his great spirit of love, compas
sion, understanding, patience and*
courage, it was to have known life
in its fullest.
It was thus he lived and worked
for the church he loved, giving gen
erously, supporting to the fullest the
program of the church by his pres
ence, his interest and his concern.
His faithfulness as a deacon for 40
years will long be felt.
His great spirit and effectiveness
reached far into,, the life of the com
munity to which he gave as fully, as
in every phase of the fullness of life.
His family life was ideal. A devo
ted husband and father, his family’s
intex-est and concern was always his.
God in His infinite wisdom called
this great Saint to his Heavenly home
on March 26, 1957. Yes, we shall
miss him, his genial manner, his
friendly smile, his great fortitude.
But our lives are richer because of
him. Be it therefore;
Resolved: That we express our
sincere sympathy to the family.
Resolved: That a copy of these
resolutions be sent to the family, one
copy to the Jackson Progress-Argus,
and that a copy be made a permanent
record in the minutes of the Jenkins
burg Baptist Church.

This appeal is made possible by the following firms who are interested in our churches:
Yes, we all have our dreams.
Perhaps sometimes, they are mere pro
jections of our selfishness . . . hopes unfair
to others . . . ambitions dangerous to our
selves.
But often, they are healthy, honest as
pirations . . . opportunities which zeal de
serves . . . victories which justice demands.
Is it wrong to dream such dreams? Does
God frown on honest hope and love?
Of course not! Rather, God has given
us minds able to dream, and souls coura
geous enough to seek the difficult-even
the impossible.
But the Divine Architect helps man to
model his castles in the air, and provides
the tools for their building. With faith
and the guidance of the Church a man may
realize hopes and aims which a cynical
world calls futile.
