Youth Choir To
Present Yule
Program Dec. 21
The Van Deventer Mixed Cho
rus, composed of more than 60
boys and girls from Butts County,
will give its annual Christmas
Musical program Friday evening,
December 21, at the Jackson
Methodist Church.
Dr. Lee Collins Jr., head of the
Voice Department at Tift Col
lege, Forsyth, will direct the
chorus again this year. Mrs. J. W.
O’Neal Sr. will be accompanist.
Included on the program will
be the following numbers: ‘0

Shepherds Watched,” “How Far
Is It To Bethlehem?” “Gentle
Mary,” “To The Manger,” “An

In addition there will be sev
eral familiar Christmas carols
sung by the congregation.

LEGION DUES NOW DUE,
COMMANDER COLLINS SAYS
American Legion dues for
1963 are now due, according to
Thomas J. Collins, Commander,
who states that if dues are paid
before January Ist they will be
$4.00. After January Ist, 1963
dues will advance to $4.50.

with relatives. On Saturday they
were given a surprise anniversary
dinner at the home of their son,

and son, Steven, of Quincy, Mass,
spent the past week with her pa

her Intermediate Sunday School
Class at a spaghetti supper at her
home Saturday evening. Misses
Claudia Potts and Kathy Blue
were also guests of Mrs. Price.

Evelyn Apple, and Susan and her

who has been visiting here for
