Lovely Tea Saturday Fetes
Miss Weaver, Bride-Elect
One of the loveliest parties of
the holiday season was the tea
given Saturday afternoon, De
cember 15th, by Mrs. L. W. Moel
chert and Mrs. Rogers Starr,
honoring Miss Ellen Weaver of
Covington and Atlanta, bride
elect, whose marriage to Vincent
Barrett Jones will be a social
event of January 19th. The de
lightful affair was at the Moel
chert home on East College Street
between the hours of three and
five o’clock.
Receiving the guests were Mrs.
Starr, Mrs. Moelchert, Miss
Weaver, Mrs. John Bob Weaver,
mother of the bride-elect, and
Mrs. Vincent Jones.
The tea table was overlaid with
a red cloth and centered with a
beautiful arrangement of white
and red poinsettias, snow-sprayed
pine, and lighted red tapers. The
entire home was decorated
throughout in keeping with the
Christmas Season.
A lovely Christmas tree door
piece graced the front entrance,
while a small tree made of mini
ature poinsettias and boxwood
adorned the door to the dining
area. A colorful Christmas deco
ration hung from the ceiling in
the dining room.
Dainty and decorative sand
wiches, party cakes, rum balls and
Russian tea were served the
guests. Presiding at the tea table
were Mrs. J. W. O’Neal, Sr. and
Mrs. Doyle Jones, Jr. Assisting
were Mrs. James Payne, Mrs. W.
O. Ball, and Mrs. Bill Sasser.
