Miss Thomason is a graduate
of Jackson High School and is
employed at Belton C. Plowden
Company of Griffin. She is the
daughter of the late Mr. B. J.
Thomason.
Before entering the United
States Air Force, Mr. Butter
worth attended Griffin High
School.
The wedding will take place in
September.

in charge. Harry Drake played
Jingle Bells on his trumpet;
Debra Haynes sang “Silent
Night,” and we talked about the
4-H Christmas party, as well as

at a surprise birthday party
Thursday evening, December 20.
The lovely affair was given at
the home of Mrs. Denny O’Neal
on College Street and a number
of Miss Smith’s friends paid com
pliment to her.
Following a session of game
playing and candy pulling, the
honoree opened her many nice
gifts. Punch and Christmas tid
bits were served to the group.

FFA DANCE
The Jackson Chapter of the
FFA held a dance party Thurs
day night, December 13, from
7:30 - 11:00 with the FHA in
vited. Refreshment were served
by the FHA.
The FFA String Band and
Quartet performed at the party.
The dance party was chaperoned
by Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Williams
Jr. and Miss Carolyn Hardigree.
The party was well attended by
both groups and we hope every
body had a good time.
The FFA would like to thank
the Youth Center and Mr. James
Wallace for letting the chapter

Mrs. Mary Jo Brooks, City of Jackson Tax Collector, is shown
receiving a check in the amount of $514.12 from Mr. T. F. Freeman,
secretary-treasurer of the Central Georgia EMC at Jackson. A
check in the amount of $11.07 was presented to the mayor of Pep
perton on the same day. A total amount of $24,454.03 was paid out
to various other towns and counties in the co-op’s area, ranging
from the $7.24 check to Fayette County to the check for $5,028.87
to Spalding County.
