Miss Sandra Thomason
To Wed In September
Mrs. B. J. Thomason of Route
3, Jackson, announces the engage
ment of her daughter, Miss
Sandra Lucille Thomason, to
A/lc Carrall Wayne Butterworth,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James W.
Butterworth of 437 Hammond
Dr., Griffin.
Miss Thomason is a graduate
of Jackson High School and is
employed at Belton C. Plowden
Company of Griffin. She is the
daughter of the late Mr. B. J.
Thomason.
Before entering the United
States Air Force, Mr. Butter
worth attended Griffin High
School.
The weding will take place in
September at the Fellowship
Presbyterian Church.

Hospital. Mrs. Tomlin will be

MASTERS HART
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart of
Forest Park announce the birth
of twin boys at Georgia Baptist
Hospital on January 7th. They
have been given the names James
Dennis and Charles Lennis. Mrs.
Hart will be remembered as the
former Miss Eudora Burford of
Jenkinsburg, daughter of Mrs.
James Burford and the late Mr.
Burford.

Mr. and Mrs. John Hullender,
Eddie and Betsy of Chattanooga,
Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wal
ker, Suzanne and Johnnie, of At
lanta, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Smith and Larry last weekend.
Mrs. Billy Cook and Mrs. Brae
Hodges Sr. attended funeral ser
vices for Mrs. C. B. Chapman at
Hart’s Mortuary Chapel in Ma
con Tuesday afternoon. Mrs.
Chapman was the mother of Mrs.
Phillip Bunch.

Mrs. C. T. Bray, mother of
Mrs. Rogers Starr, underwent sur
gery at Park View Hospital in
Macon on Tuesday, her many
friends in Jackson will be inter
ested to learn.
Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Land visited
Miss Annie Lou McCord at Jasper
Memorial Hospital Sunday.

tertained at an enjoyable open
house on New Year’s Eve at the
home of Mrs. W. E. Watkins on
Indian Springs Street, where
Yuletide season decorations were
used in profusion throughout the
home.
About 50 friends called be
tween seven and nine o’clock for
the delightful affair.
Mrs. Richard Watkins, Mrs. P.
H. Weaver, Mrs. Lou Moelchert,
and Mrs. Robert Armstrong
served coffee from the silver
service, while Mrs. Tom Collins
and Mrs. Lewis Freeman assisted
at the refreshment table. Fruit
cake, canapes, dips and crackers
were served during the evening.

lonega, after spending the holi
days at home. He was joined here
by his sister, Mrs. Leonard Col

Texas; his aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. J. E. Horton Sr. of
Birmingham, Ala.; cousins, Rev.
and Mrs. J. E. Horton Jr. and
children, Mark and Paula, of
Waverly, La.; Mrs. Lula Mae
Maisello of Dublin, Mr. and Mrs.
L. P. Colwell of Griffin, parents
of his brother-in-law, and brother
Wallace Colwell of Waycross.
Mr. G. R. Lewis was admitted
to St Joseph Hospital, Atlanta,
on Saturday and underwent surg
ery on Monday. Friends will be
delighted to learn that his condi
tion was reported as much im
proved on Tuesday.
Mr. P. I. Hodges returned home
Tuesday from Griffin-Spalding
County Hospital where he had
been a patient for the past week.
