Mother of Ralph
Cooper Buried
At Pavo Tuesday
Funeral services of Mrs. Nan
B. Cooper, 81, mother of Ralph
Cooper of Jackson, were held
Tuesday afternoon at 5 o’clock
from the Pavo Methodist Church.
Burial was in the Lebanon Ceme
tery in Pavo.
Mrs. Cooper, a life long native
of Pavo, died Monday afternoon
at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Paul Janney, in Fort Valley. She
had been in declining health for
nearly a year.
She is survived by four daugh
ters, Mrs. Paul Janney of Fort
Valley; Mrs. L. C. Parrish of
Albany; Mrs. George Poole of
Warwick; Mrs. Lee Martin of
Pavo; two sons, Rev. O. C.
Cooper of Norman Park; Ralph
Cooper of Jackson; one sister,
several nieces and nephews, 31
grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren.

Nancy, attended an all day sing
ing at Hopewell Church near
Villa Rica on Sunday.
Judge Richard W. Watkins Jr.
returned Tuesday from Miami,
Fla. where he attended the Na
tional Board of Prisons meeting.
Judge Watkins is a member of
the Georgia Board of Corrections.

vices Sunday at the Jackson Pres
byterian Church.
Mrs. J. W. Caines and grand
son, Tommy Creel, of Gaines
ville,- Fla. arrived last week to
spend the summer months in their
home near the Indian Springs
Camp Grounds.

Thomaston in which Union Point
High School emerged as champs.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Robison Sr.
and Mrs. J. B. Harrison will leave
Friday morning for a 10-day visit
at Robscot, summer cottage at St.
Simons. They will be joined later
by Mrs. Elwood Robison Jr. and
children, with Mr. Robison Jr.
making the trip at a later date.

Jimmy spent Sunday in Atlanta
with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stegh.
Little Miss Rachael Watkins is
making improvement from a
lengthy illness, friends will be de-
lighted to know.
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Blanken
ship, Laura and Allen, who have
been making their home in Indian
Springs, moved June 1 to Macon,
friends will be sorry to learn.

going down Sunday.

for Lexington, Va. to attend the

University of Georgia.

arrived Saturday morning to
spend the week with Mrs. Ruth
Batchelor, Mrs. John K. Wise and

to her home in Flovilla after a
lengthy stay at Sylvan Grove
Hospital.

Garland attended a dinner and
party at the Atlanta Athletic
Club Friday honoring Miss Lynn
Petters who sailed for Europe
Saturday.

Mr. Jackson is the son of Mrs.
Edna A. Jackson of Jackson. He
is a sophomore at West Georgia

traffic safety instructor at Jack
son High School, regret to learn
he was admitted Saturday to Syl
van Grove Hospital suffering
from a heart attack.
Miss Evelyn Allen returned to
Miami, Fla. the past weekend
after spending two weeks with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Allen of the Fincherville area.
Miss Allen was accompanied to
Jackson by Miss Mary Kennings,
also of Miami, who visited with
the Allen family.
Mrs. R. P. Harrison, Miss Linda
Harrison and Bobby left Satur
day for a visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Van Meeveren and Dawn
at Fort Lauderdale, Fla. They
expect to return home Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Estes
moved last week into their attrac
tive new home on South Oak
Street. Their son, David Estes of
Atlanta, visited with them Thurs
day and Friday and assisted his
parents in moving.
Miss Jackie Allen is in Miami
visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. Quinton Ingram, and
her sister, Miss Evelyn Allen, for
the summer months.
Reggie Comer, rising junior at
the University of Georgia, left
Monday for Camp Waco, the At
lanta YMCA camp near Bremen,
to serve as counselor for the next
two months. Reggie is son of Mr.
and Mrs. J. M. L. Comer of Jack
son.
