Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Harris vis
ited in Atlanta several days last
week.
Mrs. W. T. Mote returned home
Tuesday from Georgia Baptist
Hospital and is doing nicely.
Mr. and Mrs J. A. Rhodes and
daughter of Atlanta are building
anew home here. We welcome
them to our community.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allen and
Marcie will soon be moving to
Jenkinsburg. They recently pur
chased the home of Miss Ruth
Middlebrooks. We also welcome
them to Jenkinsburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Williams
of Cross City, Fla. and Miss Vel
ma Kitchens, Decatur, are spend
ing some time with Miss Eda
Leverett.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest James of
Daytona Beach, Fla., are visiting
Mr. and Mrs Grady James and
other relatives here.
Misses Ruth and Jordye Turner
of Portcrdale, and Mrs. Alice
Penick of Oxford were dinner
guests Tuesday night of Miss
Ruby Lane.
Mrs. Evelyn Apple, Ronnie and
Susan are visiting relatives at
Liberty, S. C.
Mrs. Sarah Haskins and daugh
ter of Memphis, Tenn. are spend
ing two weeks with her mother,
Mrs. W. T. Mote, and Miss Tally
Mote.
Friends will be sorry to learn
that Mr. B. C. Brooks fell last
Saturday while painting and
broke his right foot.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moore,
Miss Lydia Moore and John Al
len Moore attended the Saturday
evening activities of the Second
Regional Explorer Delegate Con
ference at Rock Eagle to be with
their cousin, Steve Mitchell, of
Palatka, Fla. Steve is an Eagle
Scout with the Bronze Palm and
is a United States Delegate to
attend the world jamboree in
Athens, Greece July 19 through
August 22.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kent and
family of Columbus are expected
to spend the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs Franklin Maddox. Miss
Judy Kent is planning to remain
with her grandparents for a three
week visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith Price of
Carrollton visited relatives and
friends in Jackson and Butts
County on Sunday.
